New character

Hello guys, I was wondering, I remember playing another mod for Kingdoms, and instead of bulding forts in a random place with my generals, I build Castles, or mini-castles.. I was wondering, is there any submod or file I can paste in my folders from my mods, to change this? if so, can someone tell me where can i find these files? thanks!

Hi Folks,

I've recently noticed that the launcher.exe which launches the various mods (including W:TW) for Medieval 2 TW not only takes up over 50% of my (actually pretty good) CPU, it also inexplicably will not end without my manual intervention. I literally have to open the Task Manager and kill the process.

Currently trawling the Steam forums for a solution, but thought I'd ask here too; has anyone else had this problem, and do you know how to fix it?

Tch. Silly me. You fix it by bypassing the launcher.exe altogether of course, and setting the Kingdoms launch options in Steam to --features.mod=mods/americas

I recently decided to place a new character in for Dorne however after putting the name into the data/text/names, data/descr_names and data/descr_names_lookup then placing my character into the descr_start the campaign stopped working and whenere I click start it takes me back to the main menu. I was hoping someone would tell me where I went wrong

I do not know but maybe some tutorial may work i tried some of them myself.

well, in order to make things right, let's go for exclusion...

you say you edited both descr_names.txt and text\names.txt, and I assume you deleted names.txt.strings.bin file, right?
then, are you sure you are putting him on a correct point in the map? try outside a city, and be sure he is not on the same point of another characetr.
then, are you sure you put the name in descr_names under the right faction?

last thing, just noticed...

I did not delete it and I am pretty sure it is outside a city. I will double check.

The thread was closed prematurely (bad moderation). Skizbot has a different view to whoever he was replying too, he wasn't insulting them he was stating his view, therefor the thread should not be closed, there is nothing wrong with a clash of opinions or a debate.

If it gets personal then by all means close it, but it wasn't Skizbot merely expressed his opinion that FanFic is wank, an opinion I agree with.
