Really long load times.

Okay. So, I installed RTW on my PC and it went fine. However, whenever I play it the load times are ridiculous, like minutes long. My laptop can run the game itself on full settings fine, it's just the load times are crazy. I've got about 4 gigs of RAM and a AMD Radeon HD 6480G. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it once already, and that didn't help. So, what's the deal?

RTW is an old game and only works on a single core processor if you have a multicore processor it will only use 1 part of it

But, on my old pos desktop, which could barely play the game on the lowest settings, the load times were like a 4th of this.

You may find that the single core of your old PC is more powerful than a single core of your new PC......

The time it takes to load the game can be dependant upon your graphic settings - this is also true of battles.

If you don't get what he is saying the game only utilizes one core so your old pc might of been a single core processor with a speed of 1.2ghz but your new pc may have 4 cores with an overall speed of 2.4ghz which means 0.8ghz a core give or take which means that it ends up being slower.
