    Hi guys.
    Erebor, no city watch upgrade?
    Faction Dwarves
    population 21600
    turn 70
    fresh Third age 2.1 install.
    what can i do?

    Did you have the barracks event? It should appear two times during the campaigns and give you access to the higher recruitment buildings. If you didn't get it and there is also no "welcome"-scroll when you start a new campaign, then it's a bug that occurs from time to time without a known reason. To fix it, you have to reinstall kingdoms (third age alone isn't enough).

    If you want to continue your current game anyway you can remove the barracks event following the instructions in the FAQ, but you probably won't get any events anymore.

    Just copy your saves folder in TATW to somewhere else and then stick it back in after you reinstall
    Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.

    HOLD IT! HOLD EVERYTHING! (yes caps was necessary)

    This is incredibly simple to fix as I had the problem myself. Uninstalling will not necessarily fix it I believe, this is a problem with TATW.cfg. However Hermes was partially correct, it is random and it is a bug (so as to speak...) Nothing TATW team did but just a random configuration that gets messed up?.... But it can be fixed in a few seconds. If you stick it back in there it will be exactly the same. Sorry to say my fix is not save game compatible:

    1. Open up TATW.cfg. Should me in M2TW>Mods>TATW.
    2. Check the [game] section for a line that reads: disable_events.
    3. If it does exist, check the number beside it. It will either be 1 or 0. It should be 0.
    4. If it does not exist, add it under the [game] section. Simply copy+paste this in and save then go start a new campaign and see if you get the Welcome message.
    Fix. disable_events=0

    That should do it, fixed my SS game anyway . NOT SAVE GAME COMPATIBLE!

    I have only retold what others told me back when I had the problem, because it worked...
