Assistance required...

Ok first I want to thank all those helping us here as only with the assistance of this site and the people here I managed to properly install Medieval II Total War. What is more I successfully managed the hotseat. Even fixed the problem with the autoresolve battles in hotseat.
However a new problem has appeared that I can't find solution for. I am playing a hotseat game with my brother. I am playing with The Byzantium Empire and am at war with Hungary. They laid siege around Sofia(which also happens to be my place of birth! ). This leads us to the issue here. When I end my turn and it comes Hungary's turn they attack the castle and all is well but for no apparent reason I am given the control over their troops while my Byzantian laddies defend themselves.....
Can someone think of something? Thanks in advance!

You mean you go into the Battle map, and suddenly find yourself in control of the ENEMYS´ forces?
Weird, I´ve never heard of something like that... But, why don´t you just lead them into doing really stupid things so that they loose the battle?

Well I am playing the BE so I am supposed to lead them but I was put in charge of Hungary's forces. And yeah I thought of doing that but I want to play the game normally not win like that. It kills the fun!

I think it would be tons of fun to watch.
You could try outrageous things you´ve never considered before - who knows, maybe you would find some completely new strategy for besieging that noone has thought of before...

The question is, is this an isolated event or does this happen all the time?

Try running the battle again, see if it was just a one-time bug, or does it happen all the time.
As a second move, check if this happens in any other settlement you have under siege or are besieging.
Just start poking around, see if it happens anywhere else, in any other battle... I've never heard of this problem to be honest, and checking if it happens everywhere or just there (Or perhaps just this once) could help us solve the problem.

Seems to me that you have control over Hungary, as in hotseat mode you can control multiple factions, and you or your brother have used the console command to get their control.
Go in console and type control <faction name> to get rid of it.
