Throughout the years there have been many attempts at creating shorts inspired by the Half-Life universe. Perhaps this is naive but I'm hoping this one will actually get somewhere. I found the 'certain microwaved casserole' at the end to be a nice touch.

Still, there are quite a lot of these types of videos/trailers, and I'd like to know what you guys think of them, or how you would go about directing your own. Discuss?

Well, if you want a couple more, there is Escape from City 17:

The first part has been aroudn for a while but the second recently came out.

There are a few others but I just can't remember what they are called. The HL universe is intensely atmospheric, and the games have a great narrative quality to them - it seems like such ripe material for film, yet I would be interested to hear ideas you guys have for characters, location, time frame, possible relation with the games, canon/non-canonical, etc. Any ideas, or will the crickets be creaking on this one?

I meant zombies without the headcrab.

Hmm, well sir, that is indeed a good question.

The headcrab zombies did look a bit kampy in the 17 minute vid.

They probably thought they couldn't do it without it looking incredibly camp and goofy

Would be great to get a proper movie made, the Half life universe is perfectly suited for one.
Go back to the Black Mesa incident, following a group of scientists and guards trying to escape the entire mess as the situation gets worse around them, ending with the remaining survivors either getting blown up in the nuke or managing to escape to an uncertain future.
