Seleucid bodyguard is silent on unit selection
For some reason, the Seleucid general unit is completely silent, instead of announcing itself as somatophulakes strategou. I'm not sure why this would be--the sound files are there, and the waves play properly. EDU_voice has never been altered by my hand... so I'm not sure what the deal is. It doesn't matter if I change the name of the wav, it just doesn't work. If I change the Seleucid bodyguard unit to another--such as the Roman consular guard or the Armenian khuveshavagan, the unit works as expected.
Is something wrong with the Seleucid guards? What files should I be looking at to fix this?

Well that didn't work...
I can reproduce it in Eb1.2+fixes and will see to it getting fixed in EB 1.3 (which will be ready when it is ready
)

Darn. I was hoping it'd end up being something easy. :-(
Well, ok. I might play around with it a little myself, too. If I come up with a fix, I'll post the solution here. I don't have the foggiest idea what could possibly be causing the problem though, aside from maybe something wrong with the sound file itself?
EDIT: Okay, it IS something easy. Turns out that "hellenistic cavalry generals bodyguard 2" is just too long, or something. I changed the unit name to "hellenistic bodyguard 2" in EDU, descr_strat, EDU_voice, and voila! It was fixed. Of course, if you plan on doing the same thing for the 1.3 release, I imagine any historic battles and things using Seleucid guards would have to be changed as well.
And obviously my fix isn't save game compatible, but that's to be expected.
edit2: well, fooey. Worked in custom battles, but not in the campaign. Well, I'm stumped, then. :p

I'm atm trieing to find this unit in all of the text files as well as all other somatophylakes strategou units. I'm pretty sure there are more than the files you mentioned i don't have much modding experience though so i can't say which. I'm then gonna give them the shorter names. I wonder if other units have the same problems because there are some with similarly long names.
edit: I appear to have missed some files. Custom battles work but the sound doesnt. Campaign crashes because it cant find the unit descriptions (obviously the files i am missing) Anyway i'm not gonna try any further, it doesnt seem to work anyways

Yeah, I don't think it's the length of the name anymore. It's not the sound file either, because it works fine if you tell other units to use it. I haven't the foggiest idea.
