Ill cut to the chase.. dont have the page file located on the same physical drive your operating system is trying to access, as reading and writing to both at the same time will slow things down.
The ideal situation would be (in theory) if you happened to have three physical drives, the OS would be on C, Rome would be on D and the page file would be on.. E. Failng that, have windows on C and Rome + page file on D
failing a seprate physical drive, a different partition set aside that isnt used for much else but a page file would help too, i think.
Also if you set the max and min size to the same number, it will prevent the whole thing shrinking and growing, and thus becoming fragmanted. Unless thats just an urban legend that is
