A suggestion-question about coop campaign

Ive seen the features of Shogun2 in multiplayer, and i would strongly recommend for a part of them to get trasnferred to Napoleon, i was trying to play a coop campaign in Napoleon with a friend of mine we bought a second copy of the game for that reason just to find out that in EVERY single battle we coudlnt avoid to play against each other which we didnt want, we wanted either to play against the ai or at least to give a part of my army in command of my friend.
I ve seen that my second request was granded for Shogun, but can it be granded for Napoleon or is the game completely abandoned?

Thats bad really, i was hoping for a coop campaign for Napoleon total war, i dont think that a patch giving that capability would be such a trouble for CA.
