Hey everyone, (or Ave or γεια σας or whatever you like)
this may be a too simple problem to ask actually, but may someone explain the script thing again to me? When I start a campaign I can't choose units which are inside towns or end the round or do other things with a left click. I went Esc + ? to delete the script and then clicked a town on the map, but it's still not working.
Am I doing something wrong? I installed RTW, then BI, then Patch 1.6, then RTR VII and then, after that problem occured, the Hotfix.
A 2nd question of minor importance: Is there still that general menu which tells you about your relations to other factions, settlements you have to conquer and have conquered already etc., or has it been removed? At least it isn't showing up when I start a campaign.
Thanks in advance for your answers!![]()
I cannot destroy the enemy Policy Building after capturing Korinth, as Spartans
Yep, you can't. They are indestructible now. Why should you be able to remove the enemy's ability to recruit troops in a simple raid? Also, we observed government buildings randomly disappearing and occupation buildings appearing. This should hopefully fix that.

Hi guys! Great work here but i've got a problem. New install of RTR VII then add the patch. When i try to start a new campaign the games kick me back in the previuos menù. If i close the game it told me that there's a problem in descr-strat at line 1598 if i can remember well...can someone help me?
Thanks
Most likely an installation issue. Is your RTR VII installed in a seperate RTW folder? And could you maybe try to remove it, reinstall 1.0, try if that launches and then install the patch again?![]()

I've played several turns as Carthage and a few as Rome now. Mercenaries seem to have disappeared. Whereas before the patch, I was always able to recruit some near Alalia and Rhegion, there are now none to be had. Don't know if that's a bug or intentional.
"We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I took the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh ya. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because if the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...."

BUG1
sometimes when I shut down rtw I have this error message: (see attachement)
BUG2
when grass is turned off and high quality shadows are turned on, I cannot see the unit shadows when I zoom to units (+/- 50 m distance)
edit:maybe it is because I modified descr_models_battle.txt (I reduced the lod distances because I want to play with medium unit quality without having a lot of lag)
I completly reinstalled RTW, BI, ALX and RTR, and now both bugs are fixed![]()
Playing as Carthage with the patch installed, there does not appear to be a Carthago dock on the map, although Utica has one. However, because Utica hasn't built any war harbor yet, it's unusable to retrain damaged ships. Carthago has the Epic War Harbor as a building in the city screen, and you can still apparently recruit ships, but there's no way to retrain quinqueremes until you're eventually able to build a Great war Harbor somewhere.

I know that Carthage had two ports, which is the reason why one of our dev's removed one. I think that we somehow forgot to link the port on the strategy map to the special building. We'll look into this, and fix it as soon as possible.

FYI-- As an experiment, I tried building a ship in Carthago. It causes a CTD every time.

That's logical, for the game somehow removed the stratmap port when we disabled the 'normal' harbour in favour of the special building. When you now construct a ship, the game will have no location to deploy it, which results in a CTD. We'll look into it.
I didn't know this, for some reason a few of the mercenary pools have disappeared. I'll ask Kepper about this and see if we can find a solution.
I just fired up new campaigns with a few factions, and when pressing end turn none of those issues appear. When do you get them? When playing a new campaign or before you're able to start one? It must be something in your install
EDIT: just checked my EDB, and I don't have those lines. I guess that you either have a bugged install, or modified the files yourself. In both cases, I advise reinstalling both RTR VII and the Patch, if possible from a different mirror.![]()
