    Default RS2 map for SPQR mod coming soon....

    Hello,

    I have had almost of completely working RS2 map for SPQR since January oft his year. But due to real life issues I was not able to release at that time. There were some fixes that were needed, some cities moved and the script needed to be edited for each location changed.

    I plan on making available the complete working version of the RS2 map for SPQR mod for those players that WISH to use it. Its optional to the original map and you MAY need to start a new campaign to enjoy the new map.

    I have to upload the base version so it will be ready for full download.

    I thought I would let all know that a New map will be made available soon.

    I also want to thank the Entire RS2 team for sharing this map for SPQR early, even though I didn't release until MUCH later. lol

    What does RS2 stand for and what will be the changes? Do you have any screenshots?

    Roma Surrectum 2 its a mod that Map a wonderful map that is consider the best Map ever made for Rome total war.

    You want pictures go to their forum and see the pics of their battlefields and campaign maps. You will see its a very nice map indeed, the Mod team was kind enough to want SPQR to have a new map if the player so wanted.

    This would go in the data folder -- maps correct? I'm using SPQR 7.0, will it work with it or must it be SPQR 8.0?

    It has files that are from 8.0, I SUGGEST using that version or you risk problems. but you can try and let us know how it turned out. Remember the bugs may not show right away if it doesnt work.

    hi guys, a long time since i've posted here (my old laptop packed up, so i wasn't able to run rome anymore) I finally have a new laptop, so here we go again.

    I've just reinstalled the game, and gone for the rs map (though i did kinda like the original) while i was overwritting the files i got one issue, mod_0.pak already existed, and it wouldn't let me over right it. I ended up skipping that single one, having loaded up yet, so don't know if it'll make a difference. But thought i'd post and let you know about it LT

    I had the same problem and the problem i am worried about is that the new Mod_0 folder has a ton of vsh files in it (several 100 it looks like) that the other RS2 environment Packs folders don't. So it may be important. As the previous poster says, there is already a Mod_0 file, a single file, in that original 8.0 SPQR Packs folder.... and the folder Mod_0 you have in the new map set would replace it and so the standard Mod_0 file that seems to be present in all the other RS2 environment sets would not be there.

    Can you check to make sure the new Mod0 folder is not misnamed? It could be that for your version, a whole bunch of the vsh files are needed but I did not see them in the other RS2 sets...not yet anyway but i am looking.

    Hello,

    I didn't mak the map, RS2 team did and their mod leader adjusted their map to work with my SPQR map outlay. The new pak file is needed for the map to work properly. Basically they found out that you dont have to make a pack file, and that you only need to name the folder that for it to work.

    For those having problems with it overwriting the SPQR vanilla file I suggest 2 things.

    One right click on the old pak file and uncheck "read only" or just delete the file first then install the map.

    Those VSH files are the new stuff for the new map, I have no idea what would happen if you use the old stuff, for all I know it could be the same info, but I know the new map has MUCH more than the old map does for battlefields.

    Hope this helps confusion? Basically you want to delete the old file and install the new mod _0.pak file.

    OK that was what i did, thanks It1956, much appreciate. their map is very nice so i am sure it will be great with your fantastic mod thanks alot. does the new map include their RS2 environment?

    Yes, everything in their map is in this one. Its really impressive to see the different grass, trees and climates.

    Wonderful thanks ..and i figured out a mod to make more grass show up so it looks really realistic, thanks a lot.

    it seemed to work fine without the folder. But i went back to the old map. Don't like the water effect.

    Yes I know I didn't like the water either, but if you play it for a couple weeks you begin to not mind. lol You are missing alot of changes to the battlemaps that I think you would prefer.

    well, i've taken your advice lt, added the map again, and gone for it. means i've had to restart, still, hannibal and theopanes are always fun.
