    Nope. I've never heard or that.
    However, I have read it in German, and I must say it just sounds cooler than the English version.

    Yeah I heard about that but I dont really see the big deal, they didnt change the words or anything, just translated them. I think why some people might be mad is because I thinks its purpose was to support the illegal immigrants. You know so they can sing the National Song of the country they DONT belong too.

    They did change the words is what I am hearing. I hear that the focus has shifted from what the poem was about to instead immigration.

    I'm not really a big fan of it. I dont know why the immigrants feel like they are such a special case. No other language or immigration has made a big a case as this. There were no demands of the polish to have their own polish star spangled banner, or demands of the iranian immigrants or the chinese immigrants. What makes this case so special?

    It seems like a paradox, singing the song of the country your supposde to assimilate into in the language of your home world. I hope that in a few dozen years, they will be willing to and wanting to learn english and assimilate into the community as all other immigrants have done, instead of us seeing a massive presence of little-mexico's in all of the southwest.

    Yes they did change some wording. The spanish version had. "My people are fighting for freedom. Its time to break the chains." or something very similar to that included.

    I totally agree with you there.

    They won't have to. Before long there will be more spanish speakers in America than any other language. Probably more than all the other languages combined. (note: this isn't a statisic, but an opinion)

    I don't see the big deal: I mean can't they also do the Star-Spangled banner is gangster talk?

    Oh, blud, can you see, blud through the sun's light,
    What so sweetly we hail at the night, blud,
    Whose big-ass stripes and bright-ass stars, too the light, blud.

    As has been said so many times before, it's not that they changed the language of the anthem that is the problem. Its the fact that they changed the wording and turned it into a political thing. I mean come on, I don't really care if they want to sing it in spanish or any other language, but you damn well better not change the words to it. Besides how many other ethnicities have made such a big deal about this. Do we have french versions?german?italian? NO, only a spanish version, they need to just suck it up and learn freakin english. they can even speak slang for all I care, atleast then I know its some sort of english.

    1. O, sagt, könnt ihr seh'n
    Bei der Dämmerung Schein,
    Was so stolz wir begrüßten
    In Abendroths Gluten?
    Dess Streiffen und Sterne,
    Durch Kämpfender Reih'n,
    Auf dem Walle wir sahen
    So wenniglich fluten;
    Die Raketen am Ort
    Und die Bomben vom Fort,
    Sie zeigten bei Nacht,
    Daß die Flagge noch dort.

    O sagt, ob das Banner
    Mit Sternen besäet
    Über'm Lande der Frei'n
    Und der Tapfern noch weht?

    2. Am Strand, kaum geseh'n
    Durch den Nebel jetzt noch,
    Wo des Feinds stolzer Haufen
    In Schweigsamkeit waltet;
    Was ist's, daß der Wind,
    Auf dem Thurme so hoch,
    Wenn er günstig d'ran bläst,
    Halb verdeckt, halb entfaltet?
    Und jetzt faßt es den Strahl,
    Wie er fällt in das Thal,
    Und glanzet in Herrlichkeit
    Jetzt auf dem Pfahl.

    O das ist das Banner
    Mit Sternen besäet,
    Das noch über den Frei'n
    Und den Tapferen weht!

    3. Und wo ist der Schwarm,
    Der vermaß sich so sehr,
    Daß des Krieges Gewühl
    Und Verwirrung der Schlachten,
    Kein Land, keine Heimath
    Gewähre uns mehr?
    Ihr Blut hat verwischet
    Ihr freventlich Trachten.
    Und umsonst hat gesucht
    Sklav und Miethling die Flucht
    Beim Schrecken des Kampfs
    Und der tödtlichen Wucht.

    Und siegreich das Banner
    Mit Sternen besäet,
    Über'm Lande der Frei'n
    Und der Tapfern noch weht
    !

    4. Und so soll es sein stets,
    Wo Männer die Hand
    Sich reichen, entgegen
    Des Aufruhrs Gewalten;
    Mit Frieden und Sieg
    Mag gesegnet das Land
    Dann preisen die Macht,
    Die uns einig erhalten;
    Denn der Sieg muß uns sein,
    Wo die Sache so rein;
    Und das sei der Wahlspruch:
    "Auf Gott trau allein!"

    Und siegreich das Banner
    Mit Sternen besäet
    Über'm Lande der Frei'n
    Und der Tapfern noch weht!
