Multiplayer Problemsiwith total war rome

i am having problems gettting onto multiplayer with total war rome, and total war rome barbarian invasion. I downloaded the gold pack a few monthes ago from Amazan and when i clicked online battles and typed in my name it said logan failed, invalid cd key. i then went into the rome total war gold edition folder and found my cd key. i enter that in to the change cd key section under multiplayer and tried again. It did the same thing on both of the games. What is the problem pls help?

What is 'Amazan'?

You don't mean 'Amazon'? I don't think they have downloadable game.

Is it an official version of R:TW or R:TW BI?

Amazon does have downloads for Medieval2 and Kingdoms and Gold Edition but I have not checked on Rome and BI.

sorry i meant amazon not amazan. also i downloaded the gold edition which has rome total war and bi in one game.

@Gene28 - you need to enter the CD-key exactly as it is displayed to you (including capital letters).

The Activation Key has not capitals. Btw i am using the Activation Key. Is this the same as the cd key, and is this why it won't work? if so where do i find the cd key?

I can't really tell you wether there's a difference between activation key or cd-key for multiplayer - i
haven't bought any of my RTW's online.

If it's a code like: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

it should be the right one.

Another important thing is - don't forget the "-" between the codes.

If this still doesn't work you can either check the manual -> multiplayer
for further information or you will have to contact somebody where you bought it.

CA could probably help you out too but i'd first go to those who got the money from you.
