Centred Screen

Ever since I've got my new graphics card (GTX 480) I've had resolution/screen problems. I'm not really sure how to call this as changing the resolution does not affect the positioning on my monitor.

Heres an example:

As you can see the game is centred in the screen with two sections either side unused. As mentioned changing the resolution only affects inside the sections. Help? This only happens with older games as you can imagine.

Note: Checking Widescreen doesn't make a difference. Monitor: HP2010i

Hi there.
Under Options/Graphics, make sure the resolutions you use are those native to your screen. And it has to be both Campaign and Battle.

What do you mean by native? As far as I am aware all of the resolutions I've tried should work.

Native resolution is the term used to describe the resolution the screen should be used at.

In the past I've had 24" and 27" widescreen monitors whose 'native resolution' is 1920x1200. I now have a 30" widescreen monitor that has a 'native resolution' of 2560x1600.

It's best to play the game at the native resolution of your monitor. The GTX480 should be sufficeintly powerful enough to allow you to play at that resolution.

I am clearly retarded. I swear to god when I tried to change the resolutions originally it didn't give me an option above 1024 x 700 odd. Now the native resolution has appeared. Thanks guys.

I have similar problem on my Alienware M14x. I have a nVidia GT555 VGA inside but have a centered view of RTW with max of 1024x768 resolution ... My screen native resolution is 1366x768.

I tried editing preferences.txt file, nothing changed. I even have no antialiasing option with my VGA !?

When I check widescreen option, nothing happens again ... stil max 1024x768 and centered ...

Hi there.
Take a look in the NVidia control panel to see what GPU RTW (or the computer in general infact) are using, as chances are you are running it on the IntelHD.

Alienware has Optimus technology which means you can switch from Intel HD to nVidia GPU, I made it that RTW is run by nVidia GT555, and my CPU is Intel Core i5.

Whatever I do, I simply can't move away from centered screen and 1024*768 x32 resolution.

Check the attachemnts.
Furthermore , game does not recognize Antialiasing capabilities of the GPU , ridicilous to say it is very powerful GPU capable of much more then RTW requires.

Hi again dendza.
Try to turn off widescreen (I am no expert on resolutions, but is 1366x768 widescreen??), then have the game autodetect the best settings to see what resolution it finds. If it finds the native resolution, turn everything else as to your designs....
If 1366x768 is not widescreen, turn off that option and see if you can find the resolution among the options manually.
