You need to select "Play Multiplayer" if you're making custom battles. The unit rosters are screwed up for custom battles in single player.
But what about the pezhetairoi? I cant find them in the play multiplayer option
Second row.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

the unit roster from single player to multiplayer is the same, and my trivial script isnt working. 'sigh'; and I don't understand that Faq answer. Any help??
Fresh install? As for the FAQ ...
The bolded part is what you're having trouble with? It's not something I've ever had to do (and I'm not actually going to make any changes on mine because I don't want to break anything), but I'll try to put it simply. Alright, step by step.Q: In custom battles or multiplayer the unit selection is missing units.
A: All of the regionals cause a problem for the custom battle / multiplayer list. There is a special EDU for custom battles / multiplayer in the "...Rome- Total War\EB\mp custom game edu" folder. Rename your campaign EDU then place the EDU from that folder into the "...Rome - Total War\EB\Data" folder. When you want to play a campaign again, switch back to your original EDU. EB v1.1 now comes with the trivial script, which will automatically switch the files for you. To play custom battles or multiplayer battles with all of your factional units, run the "Play Multiplayer" option of the trivial script.
* Open up your "Computer" folder and navigate to wherever you installed Rome (ie, my EB is in "C:\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War" - yours may be in a different location).
* Open the EB Folder and then the Data Folder within the EB folder.
* Scroll down until you find a Text file called "export_descr_unit" - that's the EDU file. Make a copy of it and save it somewhere outside of the Rome folder. (Or just rename it something else; I would make a copy and put it somewhere else because I'm paranoid)
* Go back into the EB folder and go into the "MP Custom Game EDU" folder. Take the EDU file you find there and put it into the Data folder, making sure it has the same name as the original. Now, when you start up EB, the Custom Game unit selection should be fixed - but the Single-Player units will be borked. So you'll have to switch the EDUs to get the SP game working correctly.
** If it's *not* working correctly, it means you have a folder in the EB folder named "sp game edu backup" - you'll probably have to change the EDU there, as well. I'm not sure.
Side note: I've never actually tried to run the "Trivial Script" application. I have no idea how it works, or how to figure out if it's fixed or broken.

so am I supposed to move the sp game EDU out of the folder, replace the EDU in the data with a copy of the one from mp game edu backup, and run multiplayer?I did all of this, but its still not working.
Download the installer for the Trivial Script from here and run it again. This will make things a lot easier for you.
If that does not fix the problem with your installation open a support thread in the sub-forum, I'll help you there.

I had the same problem but i fixed it.Just uninstall your EB game(and delete all the EB files exept of the saves) and install it again. That will fix it.
