Capturing enemy troops in a battle
OK, so I've been playing RTW, RTR FOE and VII for a while now but wondered if I was missing a point:
Is there any way to capture enemy troops in a battle?
The reason I ask is that from the limited reading on ancient battles I've done capturing troops in battle was a common expierence, but I've not yet managed it in RTW.
Yep, I can kill enemy troops or they run away but I've never had any surrender to me or found a way to get them to do so.
I know when capturing a City you can make them all slaves. Just wondered about the equivalent in battle. Using the Search here didn't turn up anything, from what I could see.
Also wondered if it was a limitation with the game engine.
Cheers for any help,
B

I thought it might be a limitation on the game engine.
Thanks for confirming.

In Medieval 1 and 2, any routing troops your guys engage are captured. In all other Total War games, said enemies end up dead.
