For the love of god plz help

Dramatic over the top thread title aside
Heres my problem

I am interested in a kingdoms grand campaign (also thank you ca for not making a kingdoms gc available with the box purchase love ya)

Essentially what i want is all the cool new kingdoms factions,units and gameplay improvements available on a overarcing sandbox style grand campaign map that incorperates all the new regions avaiable in the kingdoms campaigns together on a gc map (once again thank you ca for not providing a grand campaign for kingdoms when i gave you my money love ya)

Now i know there are mods out there that will supposedly do this, one example being the kingdoms grand campaign mod by dave scarface
Problem is i cant get them to work
I am not going to tell you how much time i spent reading threads and info on making this mod and others work its embarerising
After more time than i am willing to mention trying to make this work i gave up
So my next genius idea was to try to make all that happen by modding it myself. After countless hours of frustration and nothing accomplished i am at my wits end and am now reduced to begging for help in the forums...
To answer some questions in advance there is not a single modding tutorial in these forums anywhere i have not read(im not kidding) i specificly focused on the ones addressed to newbs and morons
Creating my own mod i am forced to humbly admit is simply beyond me
I am able to load some mods and make them work for ex: custom campaign mod 2
Also i succeded in modding certain elements of that mod for ex: changing unit stats/costs etc.
Also there were countless forum posts concerning the specific problem i had in launching the kingdoms gc mod (problem being it goes to a black dos screen and then goes nowhere refusing to launch) i went over ALL of these posts with a fine tooth comb trying every suggestion to no avail
Again back to the what i want portion of this post can anyone out there help me find or create or whatever it takes to be able to play a kingdoms grand campaign
If you had any idea how much of a nightmare i have had just trying to accomplish this one seemingly simple idea

ANY help would be greatly appreciated

I don't understand. Why can't you get mods to work? If you want the Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod specifically then post your problems in their forum (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=559), where Dave and other experts on that mod can help you.

Are you sure you installed to the right directory? I've had a similar problem before and it turned out that my installer was pointed to the wrong file.

Dave\Soul Firez will guide you through the installation there is nothing to it, also you need to tell which windows you have, i presume it's windows 7\vista?

I think you're getting it the wrong way.

After you install it and you can't play it, i'm pretty sure that it's either the corrupted installer when you download it, or something is wrong with your med2, 'cause the mod works with most ppl here.

Have you modded the vanilla's files?

I'm not sure why so many people have problems installing this mod. For the past year I ran it on XP with no problem at all. Yesterday I upgraded to new pc with windows 7 and after reading all the threads on the subject was somewhat worried that I would have problems running the mod. I installed the game downloaded the mod and updates, installed them all and it works fine not a single problem (I did have to add "(x86)" after program files for the 4.2 and 4.3 install path but that's all).

Suggest you start over from scratch, reinstall game, redownload mod and patches, install it all again. Or reread all the threads all ready written about installation under various conditions.

ps. this mod doesn't have every region from the kingdoms campaigns, pretty sure that's impossible due to region limit. It has a lot though.

If you've tried modding the game, you're going to need a fresh install

It'd be useful if you tell us what you've done so far... for example, have you downloaded all of the parts (that's 3.0, 4.2 and 4.3)?
If you did this, have you installed to the correct directory? (AKA the mistake made by pretty much everyone, myself included).

Because you (the OP) did not specifically say that you uninstalled all of Med 2 and reinstalled it and all updates, fixes and mod(s), I would suggest that you do such and most importantly that you get all the garbage files that do not get automatically removed and lie dormant in the registry. I had to do this 2 years ago and had my son (who is a cardiologist so it was easy for him) to fix my register after we looked up the changes that the experts on this forum indicated were necessary. I remain blissfully ignorant of what files they were, but it really was not so difficult compared to the uninstalling and reloading that I had done numerous times to no avail. If you don't get those suckers out you will never, ever get the mod/game to work. I was running Windows 7. Never had problems on XP. Hope you don't give up because this mod and some others are so very good.
