    Default "Nu" Trip-Hop?

    Hello fellows,

I wanted to ask if any of you know of any good trip hop artists? Because I've recently gotten musicstuffs from Massive Attack and Portishead (which are great, although I've only listened to their best known songs so far), but they are pretty "oldschool", in a way of putting it. They sound great, but I love this thing in "Aquaplane" from Overseer (I posted it as an example)

What I love in this song is that feeling that it's a remix from the intrumental of another song, but in slow motion... this feeling that the other artists don't emulate (from what I've heard in the songs I've heard so far), of the song being like stretched, hearing every small detail of each part of it... whereas in other songs they were originally played slowly on purpose, it really feels as if "Aquaplane" was made slower after it's production

I hope I've somehow been able to put what I'm looking for in words you can understand (I am terrible at explaining what's in my head)... can you please help me?

I don't get what you mean about the sounds like it's a slowed down version of an instrumental song.

It has a heavy focus on each beat sortof and it's low bpm but I don't get what you mean otherwise... there's a lot of music that sounds like that in the dub/ambient or trip hop genre.

    Quite a good track though.

I liked DJ shadow a lot more than most other trip hop artists I've heard, especially his first album. Not trip hop but pretty similar, have you heard the future sound of london or (even less similar) shpongle? You might like them if you're into that sortof music.

Actually, I meant more that it's like a slowed down track. Take a breakbeat song (for instance), then slow it down to a trip hop BPM. That's the feeling I get from Overseer when he did this song: the way that the sounds of the different instruments "hangs" in the air... their sounds resonates a lot more and lasts longer than compared to other Trip hop artists. Gee, it's really hard to explain it through written text, but I hope you get my idea this time

BTW, I already have DJ Shadow's Endtroducing....., but I've only heard one song so far (keeping the album for later)... I did like future sound of london, although I've yet to try out more songs from them/him/her
