I really don't know, of course I don't have an election here (my constituency had them some time ago) but I don't know how I will vote next time.

wow a 100% swing to the Tories

I don't actually know if this constituency is up for election, oh well. I don't really care anyway I'm not voting, couldn't even be bothered to see if I'm registered up here.

Hurray for political apathy. If you don't vote do you deserve to have the right to?Originally Posted by Syron

But of course, people ought to have the right to refuse to vote out of disgust rather. What would be the effects of forcing apathetic, "not-bovered" and generally ignorant people (when it comes to politics) to vote? I imagine that the BNP would do quite nicely out of it.
For local elections I would (still two years away), vote Lib Dem. Although they have a history of overspending around here the healthcare is good and the public transport pretty flawless. Far, far better than the S.E. where I lived until recently. That said I'd probably vote Tory in a general election.

We allow you not to vote in elections so that people have the right not to do so if they so wish, for example to express discontent. The way things are going there is really little point in voting anyway. The manifesto's of all parties involved have little in common with my views so why should I vote for any of them? If they want my vote, run on a platform I agree with.Originally Posted by Squeakus Maximus

There's too many communists/ultra-socialists/tree huggers up here anyway. This is hopefully simply a transitionary home so I don't really care, the locals can **** up this place if they really want and continue voting the same way.
I don't see why you care anyway since you really wouldn't like who I'd probably vote for.

In the US: Only 1/2 of the citizens are qualified to vote.
Only one half of those register.
Only one half of those actually vote.
And only slightly over one half of those need to agree to win.
Which means slightly over 1/16 of the people in the US are making the choices for all of us. Democracy in inaction.
I think I am going to vote Labour. This is in fact if I do vote. I have to finish two essays by five o'clock this evening so I simply may not have the time.

Woops, I made a mistake. It is a week today, not today. Nevermind!

As for voting, I think I would vote Lib Dems. I mean I like the Tories but they just don't really seem to get it right and the LibDems seems more efficent with the money

I will vote Labour. I think people are grossly unfair when they ignore the imense amount of excellent work that the Blair government has done for us all, and how Britain is wealthier, stronger and happier than it has been in decades.
None of them are worth my vote really. I've been able to vote for nearly 3 years now but I've never bothered, why? Because I've never seen any party that represents my views. Doesn't mean I should be denied the right to vote, simply because I can't find a party worth voting for.
Yeah vote Labour and have yet more years of obsessive political correctness, a nanny state, totally screwed up immigration system, sucking America's cock, double standards, lies and spin. Great.
Man, those are symptoms of politics, not a particular political party.
I live in Scotland, and our next elections are not for 2 years, but if i was voting it would be for Labour(but would use my second, vote - we have 2 in Scottish parliamentary elections- for the Scottish Socialist Party). I have to say that while i am not over joyed by the Blair government as they have moved far to far to the right for my political tastes - PFI's etc, they are the best we have (despite the recent controversies). And they have delivered some great things: record spending in health and education (after the Tories draining and undermining our puplic services for 18 years), Scottish and Welsh devolution, the minimum wage, Human Rights Act, civi partnerships for homosexuals, the New Deal for the unemployed etc etc . Anyway please all vote who can! I just dont understand political apathy, why complain if u dont bother to vote! But then i am a political junky.
I don't think there are elections in my constituency, and I'm too young to vote anyway, but if I could I'd probably vote Labour. I don't really like Blair, and the drift rightwards, but the local Lib Dems keep trying to mess up my school, and there's no way I would vote for the Tories.
Plus, people in Labour are not all like Tony Blair!![]()

Exactly, the Labour Party has always been a broad chuch. Hopefully Blair will take the hint that he is no longer a asset to the party and move on sooner rather than later.Plus, people in Labour are not all like Tony Blair!
Where's the Monster Raving Looney Party then?
Around. They've gone downhill since Raving Lord Such died.

I voted Other.
I have always voted Conservative based on policy but i will be voting BNP this time around.
I cannot see any of the main three parties ever actually addressing any of my concerns, immigration being one of them. The mere mention of the word would provoke a reaction similair to prodding a hornets nest with a pointy stick.God forbid anyone should be allowed to debate the merits of his own countries immigration and asylum policy without being automatically labelled a 'fascist' or 'a little Hitler'.
This current government is a shambles and is in decay. It just seems determined to take everyone else with them.
Could you be more specific please i cant think of anything?I will vote Labour. I think people are grossly unfair when they ignore the imense amount of excellent work that the Blair government has done for us all, and how Britain is wealthier, stronger and happier than it has been in decades.
All i see is a manufacturing sector in decline,a health service in debt,an empty pension pot, severe skill shortages in almost all trade areas, rising crime, poor educational standards and higher taxes year upon year to compensate for inefficient use of public funds. Not to mention the out of control immigration system.
Yeah vote Labour and have yet more years of obsessive political correctness, a nanny state, totally screwed up immigration system, sucking America's cock, double standards, lies and spin. Great.Lol brilliant.Man, those are symptoms of politics, not a particular political party.
I agree with you. What is most worrying though is that many are worse!!Plus, people in Labour are not all like Tony Blair!
John Prescott,Ruth Kelly,Patricia Hewitt and Hazel Blears to name a few.
