    Default Golden horde reinforcements?

Hello everyone! myself and 3 friends are starting a hot seat campaign Let Play on you tube with a very specific goal. We want to field an allied force capable of eliminating the entire golden horde before they take any settlements. I don't have much experience with the horde as I usually play a western faction. I heard they have reinforcement waves. Does anyone know how long after the first wave they come and if we destroy the horde before that time, do the other waves still come?

I believe the first and last wave are about 30 turns apart, but you can check in the campaign files. Entirely defeating one wave and eliminating all Mongol units on the map has no effect on a subsequent wave.

Hey, that will be fun to see. Please post the link here when you've done the film ^^

There are 3 waves. You can destroy each wave individually. They seem to come at least 10 turns apart. 15 sounds right. Checking the campaign files apparently tells exactly when these come.

Playing on VH/VH they come in 3 lots of 4, i.e. 12 stacks in total. If you leave them alone the first 2 waves will join together, then the 3rd wave will join that, so then all 12 will join together. This presents the maximum challenge for a field battle, as you will face multiple stacks of reinforcements.

On lower difficulty settings there may be fewer stacks, e.g. on a Hard campaign I got 2 stacks in the first wave, 3 stacks in the 2nd, and 4 stacks in the 3rd for a disappointing total of 9 stacks.

They will gravitate towards Antioch if they appear in the Middle East, or towards Kiev if they appear on the Steppes. If you are not at war with them they can be herded by blocking passes and bridges etc. so you can manage their movements. You can keep out of war with them by paying them tribute. They will still gravitate towards and attack Antioch or Kiev, and attack cities on the way if you don't give them money. This can go on for 50+ turns.

They are friendly to begin with. Keep a diplomat with them, and keep talking. Watch out for the phrase "The time for talking is over".

There are many threads on this forum about fighting the Mongols - in sieges, at bridges, and in the field. A search will turn up multiple options. To fight them in the field you will need the best heavy cavalry you can get, preferably with silver experience, and all armour and the swordsmith upgrades.

You can defeat them in the field with top level heavy cavalry, and a team effort sounds ideal.

That is the playlist so far. We are a little stuck on my turn since I am having a problem running the saved game. Apparently my gold version will not patch to 1.3. It keeps telling me it is already installed, but it is not. I have learned that this was a common problem with the .exe file, but I can't seem to find how everyone fixed it. As soon as I get that fixed we will be back on track. Each Let's player will upload thier turns on their channel, but I will put them all in my playlist.

I am hesitant to go into the files to learn everything since some uncertainty makes it more fun, but that last time I played against the golden horde I was facing 5 or 6 stacks in the first 4 or 5 turns.
