I have 2 generals (i have modded all stats for all units btw) one is a rank 4 and has 'master swordsman' and a retainer that offers +1 melee attack as well as increases to charge bonus through the cavalry upgrades. This provides for an increase of +4 melee attack. He is also rank >>> veterancy. The other general is rank 0, has no melee attack or defence bonuses, yet he has the SAME stats minus 1 melee attack. He has no veterancy either.

Anyone know how this is possible?
