By EPIC MUSIC I mean those awesome songs that could run as soundracks for any dramatic battle movie, the music who could make anybody daydreaming of himself doing heroic stunts while listening to it, the music who makes you feel invincible even when fighting with Satan in his own hell, the music that plays in the background when Chuck Norris brushes his teeth etc

    THREAD RULES

POSTING: You will post your own proposed epic song + a relatively short description on the previous song consisting in your feelings/visuals you felt while listening the song or the story you depicted from it

RATING: You will also rate the above song + the description of your neighbour I just mentioned above ( which means you will need to listen that song too and check in what measure he sensed the true meaning of that song)
    Scale from 1 to 10

This will be entirely possible after having 2 posts to start with for obvious reasons but after that the double rating can begin

Mind the first posts of this thread cause it seems not everybody got my intention

    Pretty good stuff 9/10,

Impression - It gave me the feeling of a lasting crescendo that never goes down but gets bigger as time goes much like a tidal wave, where it gets bigger until it finally ends.

    9.5 for the song
    10 for the comment

Now my view on your song:

This is definitely not of light nature , a dreadfully dark piece of music which reminds of ancient forbidden rituals but also of enticing, tempting and playfull nature.
Its winter and the clock strikes midnight. The spirits of darkness appear followed by Satan itself. The witches from the four corners are gathering as well and a weird pagan ritual is going on to glorify the black emperror. At the height of the orgy a little village church bell is heard discreetly from afar. The spirits of darkness are dispersed.Daybreak.

Lets make a giant step into the present for the guys who converted classical instruments into trully rage weapons

While i didn't quite see all the things you talked about, it was still an epic piece (Reminded me a lot of metal ballads). I saw images of death and doom more than anything else.

8/10 Its pretty good, but also very "Standard" in that if follows a pretty well known formula.

Impression sounds like they stand on a brink of some massive disaster in the beginning, and then is hurled into it head first in a epic carnage, be it war or destruction it can be applied to anything.
    ---------------

This is played in the Skyrim version of Valhalla where you fight the Skyrim Midgarðsormr.

    AWESOME! 10/10

Nearly played 70 hours of Skyrim at the moment, and I can't get enough of this game. The music is fantastic aswell. The use of the male choir is brillaint. I always find myself humming the main theme when I start up the menu. An epic song indeed.

Here is one I recently found. A more "digital" song, but it's still so damn awesome!

And thanks for the invite to this thread mate. Good idea.

A good piece of epic music. A bit too 'digital' and 'electronic' for my own taste, but it certainly is good. It never really gets going though, I think.

If I am to describe my feelings as I listened to the piece, well, It felt almost like running through a hyper modern space city, if you know what that feels like

    Basically, excitement, fear and heroism.

Music: 8.5/10 Starts of slow and moody, mysterious, perhaps a brooding on past events and a recovery from loss? Follows a steady build-up and ensuing escalation to a desperate finale, a showdown for justice and redemption against a foe who deserves to be vanquished.

Music: 6.5/10; I didn't think it was that epic to be honest. I was reminded more of some sort of Japanese Anime theme song. That being said, I did find the progression of the music and the modern tone it had to it pretty interesting, especially the ending (3:30).

Comment :7 well very general words but the song was not indeed quite epic and overflowing with suggestions
Song: 8.5 a brief piece of pure epicness

It begins straightforwardly and draws you suddenly in a already ongoing large scale enterprise.Everything was set and planned long before, confessions, regrets were uttered too, farewell tears have dried on their face and the speeches have already filled their hearts with courage. Now only the dreadful mission has yet to be fulfilled. The song displays a full march to an uncertain showdown but its filled with hope , self confidence and somehow with serenity which all mask the gravity of their horrendous and fearsome deeds. The steady cadence keeps firm even when it comes to the heat of battle which denotes an unstoppable inspiring force capable of facing even the unlimited means of the foe. This last idea is sustained even by the open-ended final which suggest-through that threatening recurrence- the struggling is far to be conclusive and they( the foes) are stronger than everyone expected

Comment: 9/10 You're good at this

Music: 7.5/10 I enjoy this blend of oriental sound and modern orchestration. The song suggests an intense action right from the beginning, building up to a certain point where it introduces an unexpected turn of events which only proves to be ephemeral. The fast tempo reappears, gradually the paving the way for the climactic end and the sorrowful aftermath (probably the part where the hero is counting the bodies around him, friends and foes alike ).

A detailed and accurate description and critic of the music from the beginning till the end of the piece

7/10 Although an epic piece the oriental tone is lost as the piece progresses.
At least in the beginning you take the impression of an oriental country.

    8/10.

Really like and already know most of these songs.

    (the last 5 minutes mainly)

I really like the intense build-up in this song which is characteristic of all GSY!BE songs but this one is especially epic and fitting of being the soundtrack of some great movie trailer. It always sends shivers down my spine to hear the finale.

    10/10, simply because I love GY!BE ...

"Moya" has always reminded me of a very slow, deliberate, patient end of the world. As it slowly evolves and warps outwards from the black abyss of human action, the desperation of the universe becomes louder and louder. This is no conventional apocalypse, but a slow degradation of all things we have known and loved. Buildings do not collapse, but slowly entropy over time, eternity sped forward and urged onward by our lust and urge for power. It never ceases to remind me of the great mass of humanity slowly ascending through the clouded skies and destroyed undergrowth of burning cities and ruined fortresses, the rain pounding ever more majestically, if ruinously, upon the last remnants of civilisation. Zeppelins, bombers, fighters, and a thousand bizarre machines and machinations never before seen in history rain fire and death on the world, pulsating the final lights of our species into a sort of din covering the soiled and ash-covered streets. Newspapers fly in the wind of the final breeze on the last day, and the grey sky becomes totally blackened by the chaos far below, far above, and far beyond the reaches of our imagination. The darkest horrors of human conscience spill forth in a tidal wave of nightmares. Soon, the light of terror envelops the world... and then...? The heart stops...

My entry is somewhat more conventional... heroism!

song 9/10, i really like that kind of music, also theres alot of Brass and im a French Horn Player

comment: 9/10 very detailed, thoughtful and thorough

while listening to it, it reminded me of a fox hunt in 18th century English country side, the French Horns in the beginning and throughout are giving the hunt calls and the rhythm that the strings are playing feels like horses trotting and galloping, and in the final few measures of the piece it felt like the hunters had caught the fox and were returning home. it gave me a warm joyful feeling within, i really enjoyed it

9/10 it had both slow parts and epic moments, I liked it. Scottish army climbing a hill, when suddenly a massive english army reveals itself on the other side and an epic battle starts

9/10 comment is brief, but I had the same feeling of a hunt.

Although i like it is sounds a lot "John Williams-ish" despite having some merits of its own.I wouldn't surprised to have heard it in an action blockbuster with some eastern subject.

Song - 7/10. Gives it a nice "Calm before the Storm" feel in the beginning, followed by a sense of a snowballing effect at the end.
Comment - 6/10. Short, sweet, to the point.

Now I apologize if this is somewhat of a change of musical style from the rest of the thread. But in my opinion this song can make men do wonders. Also, in my opinion, the lyrics to this tell a story of struggle.

when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

Song - 8/10. Truly a motivator song, it reminds me of an old mosh pit with heavy metal types losing control in some abandoned warehouse. I am also reminded of Omega from mass effect it has a seedy feel to me which is why it would be played in underground metal groups and cults.
Comment - 3/10. Not very descriptive I like a more inspired audience.
