House Arryn has been struck a shattering defeat and has been left with no standing army. Lyn Colby has run for the hills, and now the way too over powered Lannisters stand alone....like they need help.

Where would you want them to build a fort? There is no need. All the places they are have forts at all the important locations. Roberts feelings are hurt that you would suggest such things.

Actually, it saved him. If he was in a fort, he would have died with all of his men. This way he lived and can fight another day with some of his men. Besides. You saw where he was, he tried to march through the fort spam like Martin and got stuck. We all cant sail around the forts.

Funny thing though. Instead of retreating to Arryn land, they retreated further behind enemy lines and are stuck now. So in the end he probably will still die, but its longer then if he was in a fort.
