CTD Tips
Campaign CTD prevention measures (from older bug threads).
I decided to create this thread because most people are to lazy to read through the bug threads or run a search, so here are a few tips on how to prevent campaign or battlemap CTDs.
To solve most of the campaign CTD's you should disable autosaves in the preferences text file which can be found in C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\Play_YourCurrentCampaign\preferences. Apparently autosaving corrupts your save games making them unplayable. Also, always enable the background script. Also try not to recruit any generals, cloned generals can cause CTD's.
Battlemap ctds are mostly your rigs fault. Try using the gamebooster app to increase the performance of your RAM. I also suggest that you disable any anti-virus software you use and disable your network connection. Set the vegetation to low and anti-aliasing off (you can adjust anti-aliasing from your gfx control panel itself instead of in the RTW control panel). If you have a beastly computer enabling unlimited men on the battlefield may in some circumstances reduce lag.
If anyone has any other prevention measures feel free to post them here.

Re: CTD Tips
Another tip, for the after battle CTD's try waiting 30 seconds or until your computer stops 'thinking'.
