Use BOSS, usually that will sort out the biggest problems.
If you're a bit more advanced, use Wrye Bash as well as NMM. Wrye Bash can be a bit daunting though, I myself only use it for basic stuff.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
IMO most mods are really weird and unnecessary. Why would I want a house? There are smiths, enchanter-things and alchemy labs in every major town, and many small. Also, why would I ever be at my house? I only use Glamdring, Lords Armour, Scout Armour, Horker Tusk Bow, Werewolves of Skyrim and those mods that makes it possible to kill everyone
Because some of us have collector's OCD and want a nice house to show off all the stuff we've gathered.

I collect stuff to, and now that I think of it, I use the Dovahkiin Hideout It's the only place with enough space for all armours and weapons in the game. I'm never there tho
I'm looking for a mod that increases the skill cap.
When in doubt, say - Trve Norsk Blækk Mettal

Spoiler for Dangerous stuff:
There are a few cool mods that add fun spells atm.
I don't need another heat/fire/frost/energy beam mod or the ability to summon giants. What I want are spells that are creative and fun to use.
Here are a few examples:
Force push/pull/cloak (pushes enemies away or pulls them to you); "entangle" (it essentially grows thorny bushes wherever you aim it) from the Midas Magic mod.
Meteor summoning (makes many small ones or a single big meteor fall from the sky on top of your enemies)
Teleportation/blink
etc.
Does anyone have any other cool spell mods like that?
There is a mod called 'Titanicus' or something like that, which adds many spells, and a lot of other things as well. I don't use it myself tho, so I don't know what is included
Here are three screenshots for my current Skyrim game:

I don't know, but I may do an AAR on this if I ever get the time to make one.
And yes, that is an auto-blade in the last pic.

Tytanis mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1601
Midas Magic Spells of Aurum (the best magic mod im my opinion): http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3413
Anyone knows someone who could disable the whole Nightingale and Nocturnal part of the Thieves Guild questline? I just want to play a usual thief
What's the mod that replaces Skyrim's evolution system and splits areas by level? Pretty sure there's one.
Skyrim Configurator - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=814
This isn't really a mod, but more of a utility. It allows you to tweak options and set values that you can't reach on the normal Skyrim launcher. It also has the option of threaded textures and things like that which is a plus. I use a lot of high-resolution texture packs and mods and noticed a major (by major I mean I went from my screen locking up every couple of seconds due to the overload to a smooth gaming experience) difference in performance after checking the threaded options and playing with the shadows a bit and turning off that annoying v-sync.
Skyrim Realistic Overhaul - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5400
A really good texture pack that I use, and probably one of the more complete ones. It looks great in combination with AOF Detailed Mountains, That's Ice, Lush Trees and Grasses, Skyrim Flora Overhaul and WATER so check those out as well. (Large filesize though so make sure you have the space)
Realistic Lighting with Customization - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7654
A mod which allows you to tweak the lighting effects in Skyrim. It really doesn't have a performance hit and I actually noticed a bit of a boost after using it. There are lots of preset configurations available if you don't want to go through it on your own. The one I personally use is Redguards Realistic Lighting because it has a nice balance of colours and still manages to maintain the Skyrim feel while not going overboard like some of those Real ENB presets where it is saturated to hell.

I wish someone would make a good night mod already...I think nights are too bright, even when clouds cover the nightsky, it's too damn bright! I want night to feel like it, dark, and moody...
There are multiple of them. This guy has reviewed some of them

I think this might be what you mean
Challenging Skyrim - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12077
SkyTEST - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10175
Real Wildlife - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9778
The last two change the same thing so only use one though. Hope it is what you're looking for!
