    Default Political Ads

I just saw the worst political ad ever. It made me retract even the smallest amount of support I had for the Republican party in the Ohio Gubernatorial race.

Two candidates are running for the Republican primary. Petro the present Attorney General and Blackwell the present Lt. Governor.

    Petro supported ad:
Points it hits...Blackwell says he is againist gambling yet he owns stock in a slot machine company. He is a family man and is againist abortion yet he owns stock in a company that makes the abortion pill. It continues the whole time saying what one word describes Ken Blackwell. Then it gets to the point, What one word describes Ken Blackwell? Democrat.

I fell over in my chair, it was the worst ad I have ever seen.

Petro is running on a Christian family, the whole WASP mentality.

Anyway barring any wild scandal on the democratic side of this race, I will be voting for Strickland.

And everybody wants the Democrats to retaliate with the same sort of dishonorable venom as the Republicans use. But I disagree thats necessary.

I think you misunderstood. Blackwell is a Republican.

And as it would appear, the Republican party has launched an attack on all moderate Republicans in the state. The civil war has begun.

That sounds like sensationalism to me.

That it is, btw they changed the ad already.

Mostly this is because I hate political ads because they never ever tell you what the candidate will do for you, only how bad the other guy is.

I agree, political ads do nothing for me. I know that the information is going to be biased, so I don't see any reason to just accept what the ad says and not do my own research.

Political ads are the funniest. I remember when the Vietnam Vets were bashing Kerry for his purple hearts. Ah good times.

Well these ads contribute to the apathy of the US voter. No one wants to vote for scum that throw mud at each other. I live in a democratic county and I have only seen republican in-fighting so far.

And I have to tell you. I wasn't impressed with Gore or Bush in 2000. Didn't like either of them. Nobody did. And I didn't exactly have a whole heap of confidence in Kerry for 2004, either.

about those. My dad is a vietnam vet, and he said that those guys (the swiftboat vets for truth) were just jealous that they didnt get any medals. Though that doesn't detract from the fact that Kerry would have made a bad president.
