    Default Sub mod proposal

could you make the recruitment times for the palatinae to 2 and the comitatensis to 1? and reduce the recruitment times for the legionary cavalry like the catafractarii and the cinabarii and all(cant remember their names ). i prefer a slightly faster pace of gameplay. i personaly find the 3 turn recruitment a bit too long. is there already a submod for this? if so could some1 direct me to it? thanks!~

I myself would be for this proposal as well. Hell, I love RSII's 0 turn recruitment! However, I'm willing to meet half-ways.

I agree with you dear friends!!!
Especially about the Comitatenses, I like them, very useful, so one turn for me would be (actually, with "some" little mod. I made to the game IS ) a better recruitment time!

The things you're talking about can hardly be called a submod, but rather a minor tweaking of the recruitment times. This is very easily done, simply edit it yourself, after your own taste, in a file called export_descr_unit.txt. It can be found in the data folder.

Remember to make a copy of the files you intend to edit.

It is always a persons choice to alter mods to suit themselves (I did myself) BUT remember that the recruitment times have been devised to ensure that people don't end up with massive rolls-royce armies all over the place. SAI is intended to be hard, and if you allow for 6tpy the current recruitment times for elite troops is not too bad. But as I said people are entitled to change things.

    I agree with Joar.
As always wise words julianus, in reality I changed only the time of recruitment of the Comitatenses, because in some way, I think the Mod sould have more Comitatenses units, being the Comitatenses in that ages not exactly high end units, but, as you said in many occasions, you already used all recruitment slots, so in my little modification to the EDU the two factors are balanced.
I never changed the recruitments times for the Palatinae/Scholae/Aux.Pal. etc. units, because it would disrupt the historical realism of the Mod.
In general terms I think the modifications to the EDU file are a very, very dangerous task for the players, the risk is to disrupt the campaign balance and the historical accuracy.

Another question. What are Pseudo legions? and yes. inspired by PSEUDO ROMANUS. i know that i can recruit some in a province near Armenia.

Also about a sub mod. Replenishing legions in foreign lands. how? besides recruiting new 1nes and merging units. Its tiresome especialy if the legion is a gallic legion and your in modern day Iraq

about replenishing legions there is one thing i do. For instance a Gaulish or German unit. Goes away very far away like for instance Syria right? It's normal that you cannot recruit gallo-romans or german-romans in that regions but insted you have syrian-roman. Usually what i do and i dont play with Huge units to hard to control some crashes happen so i use large units.
When one of that units fights, fights and fights and is soldiers reach almost 0 usually o go to a city near with units with similar forms or perfomances then i put a unit building and when the unit finish i disband the gallic unit and put a syrian unit in place, then i keeo fighting... well that's one of my strategies perhaps can be usefull to you.

I always keep original legions in case of another move on the map.
