    In the future genome / DNA manipulation is a common part of medical practice available to a good portion of society. Specifically with consideration to 'pets', genetic engineering and modification has become typical for almost anyone who can afford a pet; in addition to further paying to have any number of desired traits or characteristics from multiple unique species across the animal kingdom.

    What would you choose?

    I'd genetically engineer it to not eat human babies and have all the traits of a cat and have it's fur be as soft and fluffy (soffy) as a kitten's.

    Hide/coat texture

    The cat's instinct would probably be Ŕ la cart, with the possibility that bodily forms could be altered with gene swapping.

    Yeah I've been giving that some thought, if the dragon were able to produce pure Alcohol instead of acid in it's stomach and had some kind of trigger mechanism at the end of it's mouth then it could "breath" (or puke, take your pick) fire.

    As for the creature shape itself, I'd probably take a lizard and enlarge it to about 10 it's previous size making a 7 foot dragon. Then I'd take the bald eagle's wings and enlarge those to properly fit the lizard's size.

    Put in a couple of restriction computerchips in it's brain so it will only listen to my commands and add nanomachines to regulate it's bodily functions better and I have a fully functioning dragon that I can use to destroy the world .
