Help with a bug

Well as the title states I have this odd bug that when I go into battles, the entire unit section and the bottom part is completely whited out. Anyone know how I can solve this?

Ok.. another odd problem now.. after every other fight or so the game would crash and I would get an error message..

I'm afraid that is a lot harder to pin down. My suggestion is to check out the bugs and technical help thread and be prepared to spend a lot of time and patience while you problem solve.

Look in your SS folder... there should be an .log file. Open it and post the last lines...
I suggest to install it a second time in a different folder... Even if you do it exactly the same way that´s usually the easiest way to magically get rid of bugs...
