    Default SPQR Changes

    Heya there!
I have been playing the SPQR mod for some time. I decided to download the files that enable full play and recruitment of the SPQR.

However after following the instructions on this forum the game now Crashes to the desktop on the loading screen.

Could you please give me some advise on this?

    Thanks
    Korsarro

Not sure I understand what you mean. But the newest version of SPQR is 8.0, and afaik it is only 1 file that you install over a clean version of RTW. If you've tried to update an old version with v8.0 by installing it over, it has most probably corrupted your installation and you will have to reinstall both RTW and SPQR

I''ll run through the process I did.

    1. Installed Rome Total War from disc.
    2. Patched to v1.3
    3. Patched to v1.5
    4. Installed SPQR
    5. Downloaded and overwritten the 3 files stated on this forum.

Are you saying I only need to change 1 file to be able to play as the SPQR and still recruit?

Do step 1 until step 4. If you do this you will be able to play SPQR.

Could you elaborate on this a bit more?

I decided to download the files that enable full play and recruitment of the SPQR.

No you will not be able to play as the senate. The senate is part of the bigger game, you will need to fight them in a civil war.

u CAN play as the senate but u need to manipulate one of the files in the game directory.
U enter the Rome total war directory, go to Data/world/maps/campaign/imperial campaign and open the file "descr_strat" u see the playable and non playable factions, the senate is listed under non playable, u copy the exact name of the senate faction and paste it under playable factions section and remove it from non playable and save changes, make sure u make a back up copy of the original file, just in case it doesn't work, this might be possible

I hate it when people post generic information. Its a known fact that playing the Senate tends to crash the game randomly. It also requires mods to be adjusted to play them if you are playing with a mod.

Simple solution, you want to play as the senate play the Vanilla RTW, if you playing SPQR, RS2, EB, RTR you really can't play as the senate as you will have all sorts of problems.

    End of transmission.
