I just want to edit the accuracy of my mortar units. I downloaded several editors to which none seemed to do anything but look at files. I just need mortar units that don't bomb an outline around the target and actually hit the target. How do I go about doing this for Prussia? Thanks!

I guess you can't. Looks like there's no such thing as editing stats that are exclusive to a unit. The PFM doesn't do anything either because I edited mortar projectiles and nothing changed. Either that or the tutorial is outdated.

Get db editor. Be sure to make a new pack file first, or many edits won't work. Then make a new unit stats table in the new file and copy the data from the original into it. Make any changes to the new pack file. Also download the ETW modmanager. You can find both with google.

Yeah, I just figured it out. I was using the DB editor but it would not allow me to edit anything. Turns out you have to move some of the patch files before loading patch5.

This is in the wrong board.

First, you need to learn how to create a new mod. The DB Editor works fine without having to move around patch files. Two guides for creating a mod are linked in this post: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...2#post10590462 (also work for ETW)

What I would try out in your case is not only to increase the accuracy of of mortar units, but also to go to the "kv_rules" table and decrease the "land_mortar_calibration_target_area". This accuarcy-increase applies to all mortar units though.

Go to land_units_tables in DBEditor, and change the variables / values accordingly. For instance, you can copy all the stats for Line Infantry, and paste them into a new saved table for land_units_tables, and change a value such as accuracy from 40 to 45. Sounds complicated, but you get the hang of it after a while.
