You said that turn times were far too long, which is a product of having many scripts running. Then, you suggested another script, which would increase turn time. Have you ever played excellent mods before, or are you fresh from vanilla M2TW? The turn times are going to be long, that is the price of excellence. You can either have zero scripts and short turns or lots of scripts and long turns, not both many scripts and short turns.

It must be said that more than 90% of the TATW scripts are not optimized and have a very bad performance. I reduced turn times in DaC by something like 55% just refactoring all of the scripts (reducing counters, reducing monitors with the descending switch approach, removing condition monitors, removing redundant checks, terminating unused monitors as soon as possible, shrinking the file itself, using the proper events when possible instead of *Turn* ones, ecc...).
Sounds like a paradox, but proceeding this way one can have twice the scripts of MOS with half turn times.

This is untrue, it matters HOW you write the scripts just as much as it does how many there are. You can have tons of scripts as long as you optimize them so they only get checked when needed and not the beginning and/or end of every turn. Also there are other things like simply replacing all the "not" with "!" so the game can processes them faster. And don't forget using "if" to make one script do many things instead of making a bunch of different individual scripts. And... so much more, too much to list.

I think the real problem is loading time. It's too long and its very boring time to time.
I don't think he refers to the time between turns; instead I think he's talking about the time to load the map when launching a campaign\loading a save\passing from battle to strat.

This time is indeed very long I noticed, but I don't know what determines it. Scripts not for sure.

PS AI Mordor and Harad behaves IMO better than vanilla; it keeps small garrisons, invades in a "natural" way (no magic stacks appears from nothing, it gathers its troops and then attacks) and sometimes has even got the money to pay for ransoms kudos to Mank for this.

I am experiencing some battle CTDs when the AI has small armies and I engage all its units (I think), it is sporadical and happen me only in 2 different occasions; first time I reloaded the battle and did something different (problem solved here) 2nd time it happened constantly (load the battle 4 times, every time CTD as soon as I ordered my units to engage in melee). I think it has to do with Germanicu5 but I don't really know what's wrong.
Anyway it seems rare anough to be safe if I'm the only one reporting.

Leo, I really liked the look of the new dwarves! They are really cool! The bear dudes are nice too. Since Tolkien himself has added some pretty bizarre stuff like vampires I think it is not too much of a stretch to add the bear and boar dudes. Will the heir receive the bear bodyguards when the leader dies? If not is it possible to make a script giving the heir the bear bodyguard when the leader dies? WHy not adding Bree? It enhances immersion by a 100% compared to the vanilla settlement. Any plans for splittting the elves and adding Dunland? We could really use another evil faction.

I'm playing as the vanilla Dwarves at the moment, and it seems like the Orocarni could do with a wee nerf - they've taken everything east of Erebor bar the Iron Hills themselves, and seem to be marmalising Rhun. Another quick suggestion would be to put Orc rebels in Dain's Halls, as the human rebels are a touch immersion-breaking! I'm enjoying this mod though, and it's actually really nice to play on the smaller map again, gives Middle Earth the sense of desolation it misses in Firefreaks map, as well as making the campaigns more manageable. I've also never really thought that MOS in particular is optimised for the larger map, but that might just be me.

    Keep up the good work!

MOS is indeed not meant to be played with FF's map, it was solely made for DaC, in which it plays just perfect.

Are you planning to make new cities, leo?

I know, you said that your modding days are gone, but come on, we all know how much your work would be appreciated here! A restored version of the Moria and some others (Dol Amroth!!) would be awesome, specially for submods like DCI: Last Alliance and such.

This is how at least some of the Iron Hills dwarves will look like in the Hobbit:

then it is either something you did wrong, like installing it in the wrong folder or somethign related with your PC/OS, if so, the only who can help you are the moderators.

    @Leo - Just came across this.. http://sadbrazilians.tumblr.com/

Sorry I saw Kenya snatch defeat from the jaws of victory for qualifying in the 2015 rugby world cup at the weekend. So know how you feel.

Kenya needed to lose by 7 points or less to ensure victory of the group but came in 3rd.
