    Did you give permission following the procedure I describe in the instructions? Its not about giving permission to the .bat file or running it as administrator, its actually about the folder where TATW is installed.

    Yes I did exactly what you said. I even checked some files manually and I could indeed not find them...
    Is there no backup to an older version like 2.5?

    Also I get your point, is there an option for Adding Elbereth units along side the Woodland units (hobbit movie elfs)?

    Is map.rwm inside data/world/maps/base ???

    If its there, delete it and try running the game again.

    It will not take long for the next release, its almost ready and will contain many bug fixes, though I dont believe it will fix your problem.

    What exactly is happening? How and when does the game crash?

    For some reason the files do not delete regardless of the permission settings, is there a way for a future release to not need such a bat file?
    My crash was caused by my TATW installer becoming corrupt which skmehow happened after I changed my permissions. It caused similair problems in other mods based on TATW. The crash happened as soon as I clicked on Custom Battle. It appeared that that there was no "custom" folderalong side campaign and other such folders in maps.

    Another last question... or more like a request: Would it be possible to add units containing heros? Since the factions do not have many units.

    Yes, thats what I noticed too.
    The curious thing is that this script in campaign_script.txt was NEVER EDITED BY ME, it is exactly the 3.2 one, I also dont remember deleting this unit from export_descr_unit.txt. So either this is actually a 3.2 bug, or someone who helped me with scripts in the past made a mistake in my files.
    Anyway the solution I took was similar to yours.

    I found another "bug"

    In descr_regions.txt three Provinces got no hidden resource for troop recruting, you cant recruit anything there even if you got the buildings.
    Its
    Erelond_Province (should be desert or grasland i think)
    Central_Orocarni_Province (should be mountains i think)
    Dagor_Province (should be grasland i think)

    Though I considering removing these hidden resources as requirements for recruitment.
    This is a feature that really doesnt add much to immersion and gameplay since the player has no control over it, no one goes around checking what kind of vegetation a region has for recruitment purposes.

    Ok i changed it in descr_regions.txt and startet a new campaign but it doesnt work
    edit: ok im a fool, forgot to delete Map.rwm

    and Dagor_Province should be mountains not grasland

    I think the original Idea of this was that Elves can recruit more units in Forrest, Dwarves in Mountains and so on...

    I have tested a Silvan Elves campaign with the version 2.7 now, unfortunately the game crashes every 3-5 laps, sometimes every turn, for no apparent reason.
    In the system.log.txt is only written "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"
    I dont know whats wrong here, in my Dwarven and High Elves test campaigns with v2.6 i never had that problem

    I just tested a silvan elves campaign and and reached turn 30 without any problem.
    When do the crashes begin? At the very start of the campaign or around a specific date?

    Any experienced modder (Im not experienced when it comes to what I've done since 2.6) could please read the 2.7 changelog (maybe the 2.6 to) and throw a guess on what could be causing this problem?

    The fact that the game did not crash while I played may indicate that the cause of the crash was not triggered, so the cause could be something eventual, like the acquirance of an specific ancillary.

    I played my Silvan Elves Campaign til turn 140, the crashes started around turn 40.
    I now started a quick High Elves Campaign, im at turn 70 right now and no crashes at all.

    edit: ok right now i am at turn 100 with my High Elves, since turn 95 the same problem as with Silvan Elves almost every turn a crash

    by the way what is it with these messages always occur in the system.log.txt ?

    There is nothing wrong in this log, the game is just warning about things in some files that were edited for TATW, but none of these editions will cause problems in the game.

    What version of 2.6 did you play? The early 2.6 BETA or the 2.6 FINAL ???

    I tried using 2.6 FINAL's campaign_script.txt, descr_export_ancillaries.txt and the files inside the ext folder but the CTD still happens.

    2.6 final version was uploaded by me in 15 november so its the version you got then.
    So I have no clue of whats happening. Ill do more tests anyway.
