    Default Senate

Is there a way to turn off the senate missions without playing as a Non-Roman faction?

I believe not. the only way i know how to do so is to download a specific mod or to go into the coding and changing it, although that can be dangerous.

It can be done but needs some testing.

    1) Make a backup of your descr_sm_factions.txt

    2) open it, highlight the romans_senate section

    3) cut it and paste in on the bottom of the file

This *should* remove the missions but keep the alliance.

WARNING: Civil war mechanics might be messed up

    Safer alternative:

    1) make a backup of descr_senate.txt
    2) for each missions there are rewards and penalties explained at the start of the file
    3) replace penalties with rewards

Now you can safely ignore most missions and only complete those that could be actually convenient to you.

    Cheers!

actually though it is pretty fun if you have your civil war early on. It gives tons of exp to your troops and you expand slower and let the other non roman factions catch up. So when you do go to war with them its a much more leveled and fun playing field. Just thought I'd add that. Also if your Julii or Brutii you wont have to go hunt down the Scipii in deep north africa.
