I don't know if this question really belongs to the multiplayer forum, but anyway witch is worse, having your general routing or having him die?

Thread moved from RTW MP forums to RTW GD forums.
General dying is much more worse because when he dies you lose its bodyguards as well as in a whole unit, while general routing may give your general some poor traits but he will live and fight another day.
Besides in RTW generals are rare as compared to M2TW so they are essential units.![]()
This is of course, extremely relative, i have myself used this method to dispose of terrible family members when your country is too small to even support their bodyguards, or when their traits are so horrible they aren't fit for anything.
Sometimes i even roleplay that they fight to the death.
of course it's better to withdraw your general from the battle rather than let him die; they rarely receive bad traits for it
Īnfrānt nu eşti atunci cānd sāngeri,
nici ochii cānd īn lacrimi ţi-s.
Adevăratele īnfrāngeri,
sunt renunţările la vis.
I heard once general routing was larger... because general dying meant he died heroically? I'm not too sure. I think they're rather equal.
Cry "Havoc!", and let slip the dogs of war.
