    Default How to make spartiates recruitable

    Hi, I'm playing with Sparta and I think that having 25 and 50 regains to gain a spartiate and skiritai is a little annoying. I love this mod a lot, I just want to twik it to my preference. Can anyone help me ?

    Are you sure about this? Your campaign will be a walkover if you can freely recruit Spartiates. It would also be quite unrealistic to have many units of them.

    Well I'm more of a slow campaigner, I was going to put them at 60 turns to recruit and 50000 for one spartiate. For skiritai I was gonna put them at 50 turns at 40000

    Your generals` bodyguards are spartiates.

    Find fac sparta hoplites and spartan skiritai in export_descr_units and give them seleucid ownership (seleucid is the internal name). You will then be able to recruit hoplites and skiritai from Sparta, but they will cost 29400 and take 40 turns to recruit. You can adjust those figures in the stat_cost line

    I have near to 50 regions and still haven't gotten my set from getting 25 .

    Awesome thanks, ad I said I'll adjust the cost. Does this mean I can attempt to make the hypaspists recruitable for the Attalids?

    Yep, it follows the same principle for the Antigonids (I assume you mean them, because the Attalids are a completely different matter, since they can't get them at all at the moment).

    That's my point. I wish the attalids would have a unique unit.

    Well, while the Attalids haven't got an elite unit, they do have special Asia Minor mercs which can be recruited in the area, like the Kilikes Peiratai or the Galatian Swordsman

    Ya I don't like em much haha. It's just for personal preference. I really love this mod, the time to build things the cost of armies. It just a perfect set up. I just want to make my own little changes.

    So... Can anyone tell me how to maybe make the hyspasists available to the attalids? Maybe I'll try the sacred band for them? Make their stats less of course...

    Well, it's a bit more complicated. You have to first find the hypaspists in EDU (fac macedon hypaspistai). Unfortunately, the model it uses is already used by the Attalids, so you will have to copy this entry, replace slavs ownership with Attalid (thrace), and change the model name (add a letter on the end or something. Then you have to open descr_model_buildings and find the model (fac_epeiros_chaonan_agema). Make a copy of this, rename it to the other name, and erase all faction entries but Macedon (slavs), which you must change to thrace. Then you will have to sort out its recruitment in EDB. You'll want to find pergam_govt_6 (i.e. the city of Pergamon) and add a recruitment line for the hypaspists there.

    Well, you should make sure to make them recruitable for the right faction. To do that you should look at the internal names of the factions. To find out what Sparta is called in our code, you should open descr_strat, which has a table at the top containing precisely that info.

    It still hasn't worked.... I changed the faction ownership to the seleucids... Could it be the aor?
