    Default Rome Faction Varient Units

This is a short question but has a long answer. Besides the starting locations and enemy factions, what special unit types and variations are unique to each roman faction... besides gladiator variants. My friend told me that the Julii have some special Pretorian Guards and some super calvary and the Scipii have some amazing naval unit. Info is greatly appreciated please respond.
P.S. how the hell do you get Triarii spearman for the roman factions... is it only a reward by the senate?

There is no difference in unit rosters among the Roman families, save for the Gladiators. They all can recruit the same Praetorians, the same naval units, etc.
Triarii come from an Army Barracks (fourth level). Once the Marian Reforms occur, they are no longer available, however.

But what about the Scipii, they have a Deceres battle ship of some sort and i have never seen it for any of the other Roman factions. And someone told me that the Legionary First Cohorts and Praetorian Calvary are only available to the Julii.

Yeah the scipii can build temples to Neptune I believe.
Awesome temple will allow them to recruit Corvus Quinquireme,
and Pantheon will allow them to build Decere. They are really nice ships, but hey, they are only ships.

Praetorian cavalry is AFAIK available to all roman factions.
Legionary first cohorts can be trained by any roman faction, but it requires them to be trained in Rome itself.

Also, about the triarii, you need an army barracks (4th level),
but by the time you can build it, you will probably already have a huge city, which will lead to the Marian reforms.
In one of my Julii campaigns I only managed to build 4 triarii out of Patavium before the reforms happened.

    Hope this helped!

Each Roman faction has a select few group of units that make them differ from one another. The most noticeable one comes from Shrines/Temples. Depending on which temple you build, you can eventually train a special unit. Scipii can train extremely powerful ships, and the Julii possess Arcani. I forgot what Brutii has... As for Arcani, I do believe that all Romans can recruit them? I'm not too positive.

Their unit size however, is small. Pair them up against some Cohort and they will lose.

Velite = Brutii, Samnite = Julii, Mirmillo = Scipii. Samnites have swords while the other two have spears.
Brutii has the best temple selection with exp, trade and happiness options IIRC.

    As well as this:

Julii: Arcani with Pantheon to Jupiter
Brutii: Arcani with Pantheon to Saturn
Scipii: Corvus Quinquireme & Decere with Large temple/Pantheon to Neptune, respectively

    Otherwise, they are the same.
