    Default Whats Wrong with Siege.

I might sound like a total noob or something by saying this but i could use the help... when ever I'm in the campaign for RTW and one of my settlements comes under siege the enemy just waits their for a while, and just leaves. I don't harass any of the enemy factions settlements to pull him away from the siege, but it just seems like he's toying with me. And in the occasion the enemy attacks the settlements he uses only a battering ram against a stone wall, leading to an easy victory before it even gets close. Is this just the AI or is it the difficulty. (I play on Medium.)
P.S. what difficulty does the AI start using ladders and siege towers in the campaign?

The AI typically uses all of the siege weapons, regardless of difficulty. I play on Medium battle, and have played medium-Very Hard campaign, and all of the weapons have been used. It sounds like you're just getting unlucky.
Alea Iacta Est (The Die is Cast) - Gaius Julius Caesar
An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep - Alexander the Great
We will either find a way, or make one - Hannibal Barca

I know this issue as well, it is most likely because the AI calculates that is has a higher chance than 50% (or something) to attack and defeat that one city, (obviously most human defenders have ingenious ways of defending their cities if the AI ever attacks.) but then something that you yourself cannot see happens to the AI and their calculation no longer works. What annoys me is that the AI always seems to take only the defending city in account and never the nation itself. I am myself pretty tired of weak enemy nations constantly sieging and sieging and having to give up.

Sieging stops all income of that town for the turn. It could be a lot of money depending on how big your town is. When they retreat they don't lose any men. So from a tactical stand point there is nothing wrong with the AI doing that at all.

However the problem is the AI do not take into consideration of how big and powerful your nation is.

Chips, you're overanalyzing this. Sorry!! Rome's AI is coded rather stupidly. Diplomacy in RTW is rather stupid and frustrating. The AI can stop besieging due to many factors. Some of them are:

    1) They are attacked by another nation themselves. Not necessarily just you.
    2) You have reinforcing armies coming by.
    3) Somehow the percentages of winning has dropped.
    4) Just because.

Mostly, it is the first three reasons. The fourth one I find odd, as I can easily retrain lost troops in that settlement.
