Default How can I mod the unit stats land tables ONLY?

Hi, I love this game and I would like to mod the unit stats land tables ONLY. I want 200 line infantry, 4-6 art., 80-100 cavalry, change some moral stats to make the units fight longer, melee, defense, etc... Please, would someone be kind enough to point out where and how I would go on doing this.

I will be very grateful for your assistance.

Well I don't know how to actually mod the game, but Darthmod does basically all of those things (well I'm not sure on the moral one) but has some other (many other) gameplay tweaks that you may not want. I'm sure someone will come along that has the answer you're looking for though!

Read all before attempting. And attempt before asking questions. I don't mind helping those who at least TRY to help themselves.

    1. get db editor open the game file (.pack)

    2. scroll through the drop down box (it will have "kv_fatigue_tables" or something like that in it) scroll down to the unit land table

    3. find the units you want to change and select it (if all select all) copy them

    4. click file tell it to create a new "land stats" table (you'll have to select or make the mod/pack file here)

    5. then under the new file in the drop down (you may have to select another then back to it to open the blank new file) select the new file and paste the units you wish to edit in. They will appear green until you save them and red if you've changed them

    6. at this point its pretty self explanitory find the unit and tab (line infantry / morale) and put in the number you want.

    7. Save this .pack file (something easy is best IE: I use USA for my USA mod) it will save as "name".pack my usa mod is USA.pack

    8. now... find the game file called preferences.empire_script (it will probably be easiest to locate this file by doing a windows search it's in different places for different versions of windows so I don't know exactly where to guide you) you have to edit the last BLANK line with the mod and name. my example is: mod USA.pack this step is what tells the game to use the modified pack file.

    9. You will have to perform that last step everytime before you start the game as the game resets the file to it's original condition when you exit the game.

I hope that helps you. Play with it a bit and you'll figure it out DB editor is pretty self explainitory and awesome(props to creator/s). And remember to ALWAYS back-up files... I'm not responsible if you jackup your game.
