    Default Family member's bodyguards

Is there a way to NOT have family members riding horses during battle? I have seen on a few youtube videos that someone had his general (not captain) walking alongside some Spartan hoplites. This would be quite useful during city siege defences as there is little space for the bodyguard cavalry to move around, so i was wondering was there a way to place your family member in a hoplite unit (just as an example)?

    Links?

From my understanding the only way is to either mod it so that the generals bodyguard unit isnt cavalry, or you are looking at a captain, not a general.

Use this. It replaces captains' skins on the battlemap with general's skins, among other changes. As for your family members on foot, I think the only way to do that is by modding.

In custom battles you can pick which unit is the general's unit (I think the 1st one picked it that by default). Therefore it can be any type.

The "General" in custom battles is always a captain, regardless of the type of unit chosen as his bodyguard.
