Also, what campaign settings you guys recommend with sound and graphics for a let's play campaign video?
I'll probably have it done during the weekend. I intend to release it as soon as its done. While I get you may be disappointed, I don't feel its quite justified to stall the release for roughly half a week. Just think about it this way, as soon as you have the time on Wednesday, the mod should be available.

Personally, I'd rather you wait with your let's play until I can do some patching after hopefully getting some feedback, but its not like I'll bother to stop you or anything .

    Quick follow-up.

The CAI isn't to my liking, with quite a lot of residue from the vanilla campaign. I could just release it as-is, but doing that would clearly be releasing a half-arsed product; definitely not what I want.

At the moment, I have been knocking out the majority of wars and creating the vassals blocks of the Shimazu, Mori, Toyotomi, Tokugawa and the Uesugi. One case of this campaign 'residue' is something I observed when going through a few turns of the Toyotomi. Basically, two of the Tokugawa vassals seemed to secede from their patron, one being destroyed by the Tokugawa and the other taking a more undefended region.

I have a few solutions to this: a notably negative diplomatic penalty between clans with differing alignments and pre-defined wars. TBH, the latter will probably be necessary, regardless of what year it is. There are also numerous other points in the game files that will help me sculpt the CAI.

On top of that, there are numerous other things that I haven't gotten to yet.

With this, the sheer amount of work that needs to be done and the time I commit to it, I doubt I'll get to release it before the new year. Sadly, the huge scope of re-designing an entire campaign begets this. I'll check in when I make better progress.

No dlc necessary, just a legit version of Shogun 2.

    ---

Since I've been knee-deep in startpos editing, and really, really wanted a change, I thought I'd jump back into texture editing. Ignore the soldier colourings (haven't entered the proper sets yet), but have a look at the jingasa. Jingasa variety will be a part of the unit variety.

I've recently become Shogun while playing as the Takeda, which while fun was not realistic, so what I'm happily waiting for this mod to try and win as the Tokugawa.

Here's a quick question that I've never understood though. Tokugawa Ieyasu is the man who I understand won at Sekigahara and ultimately became Shogun, but am I right in saying that the man with the massive horned helmet is not Ieyasu? I've never understood how Ieyasu rose to prominance if he's not the starting Daimyo for the Tokugawa?

Ieyasu has another kabuto which looks like the one in this:

    http://www.zen-shop.net/armour1.html

The cow horns kabuto complete with cow hide armour with the fur left on was made after Hideyoshi called Ieyasu the "Cow of the Kanto", so it is accurate. It also looks very cool compared to the other one, no?

(Apparently the Kuroda clan inherited the cow horns too according to google).

I'm not a fan of the fur.

So the guy with the horns is Ieyasu then?

In the campaign, what are the specialties each clan will have?

As Oda is my favorite for their cheap ashigaru and their numbers.

I'm hoping the Toyotomi will be the same so I can subjugate the Date with my hordes.

Will custom battles have the in game factions as well? I sense more Sengoku Basara videos.

I also, wish to inform that I require Date to have mounted gunners, and if these demands are not met, then you shall deal with my lawyer Erwin Rommel.

I won't get into clan specialties yet.

Yes, all the new clans will be available in custom battles.

Conflict of interest; he is already my lawyer .

The Date will in fact have mounted gunners. I have used the multiplayer variants of the Sengoku Jidai unit pack to thicken up the unit rosters. More on those clan-specific rosters later.
