BI Units Questions

I've just got back into BI and I have a few questions:

1. Are Foederati Infantry worth it? They only have one more point of defense and they lack a missile attack.

2. Are Foederati Cavalry worth it, or should I just use the Sarmation Auxillaries?

Take a look at this unit guide. A unit being worth it depends on the players style and ability to use it right. I, for one, use them quite a lot.

1) No. Disband them at the start, and just use Limitanei.

2) No. Disband them all, and use generals / Sarmatians as cavalry


A few other tips for WRE:

Scholae Palatinae (cavalry) are

Auxilia Palatina (spearmen) are good

Comitatenses are better

Thanks, at the moment I am using a Sarmation/general/merc Sarmation HA army to capture settlements and eliminate the various hordes. Two hordes down, two to go!

The German Bodyguard has a crazy amount of defence, I love them, even though they have a strange haircut ;P (I'm not that shallow!)

Yeah, bodyguards are over powered even more in BI than RTW. They are a lifesaver for the WRE
