Wardogs/Warhounds

My question is, how can you use wardogs and warhounds correctly in Multiplayer? I've seen them being used rarely in MP, they usually get attacked from behind and killed by cavalry. Thanks in advance.

They are mostly used to chase horse archers.

1.Chasing Horse archers
2.Being annoying

That and twenty of em in campaign make a great army for rebel pest control. great for simpson references.
