Introduction:
First things first: Vvardenfell: Total War is neither a beta release, nor a finished product. It's the result of a mapping experiment I did some years ago. It comes close to a mod proposal, so that's where I'll post it.
What is this (and what NOT)?
This "mod" (I can hardly call it that) contains an alpha map (including textures) of Vvardenfell, the continent on which the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind takes place, and some additional artwork (such as faction symbols, menu 2d art, loading screens,...). It also contains music by Doctor Eternal, who made a music mod for the game Oblivion. I thought it suited the mod excellently and so I asked for his permission to use his music. I received his blessing under condition that he would be credited in any form of release.
This is far from a finished mod, I wouldn't even call it pre-alpha. It doesn't contain new units, custom settlements, trait and ancs,... Basically: there's still a ton of work to do.
Why am I "releasing" this now?
Well, it's been lying in the dust now for some years (figuratively of course). I play on it from time to time, just to look at the map, or play around a bit with one of the (totally unfinished) factions. However, I think it's time that I stop wasting everyone's time by just playing with it instead of making a proper mod.
Why isn't this a proper 2 GB mod?
I've thought of starting a full conversion in the past, but I find my spare time too limited and I'm too incompetent - and probably too lazy - to be part of a total conversion mod, let alone be the leader of one...
Why should you care?
You shouldn't! I just hope that this will provide a sort of stepping stone for those ambitious individuals on TWC that are looking to recreate the universe of the Elder Scrolls, a wonderful series of excellent games, for the Total War engine.

Installation instructions (for modders):
There are none! As this is not a real release, it's probably going to be more bug-infested than the film 'Ants'. I advise you to create a modfolder (using the installer) and paste (more as modding instead of pasting) the content of the downloaded Vvardenfell folder - ONE BY ONE - in your Medieval II Total War/mods/*mymod* subfolder. Don't forgot to delete the entire content (not the map, just the content) of the *mymod*/data/world/maps/base and *mymod*/data/world/maps/imperial campaign BEFORE pasting over the Vvardenfell map folders.
I cannot guarantee you it's going to work, it'll probably need some more modding. I say again: this is just a collection of modded files, a sort of stepping stone for interested modders, NOT A WORKING RELEASE!! Ergo, it's useless for inexperienced users.
