Clarification on chevrons

A chevron adds 0.5 morale. Now I thought the game rounded down so you need to buy two chevrons to actually get Morale boost but jmartin says that it is the odd numbered chevrons that count for morale indicating the game rounds up. Can anyone confirm?

Odd number, yes. So it's the 1st chevron, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th. Others add +1 to melee attack and defence and +2 to reloading skill and accuracy, but odd ones add 1+ to melee attack, defence and morale and ofcourse the +2 to reload and accuracy.

I wouldn't reccomend them, unless on some cheap units, such as ottoman/sweedish shooter cav, militia or turkish melee infantry. Also put them if you have some money left, as they are sometimes quite expensive, and you won't be able to field an army that is big enough.

Indeed chevrons have their place in certain army compositions and more so in certain nations. They can be quite expensive but with smart placement of upgrades can have a huge impact on the field of battle.

Pfff, that's where my guerilla cav come into play - They take out your howies in ninja style and make you cry, and ofcourse ragequit

You can test this in game. When you right-click on a unit card in a game, it will bring up their unit information. This information will show their stats, and it will reflect changes due to chevrons.

So, a good way to do it is bring several of the same unit with a different amount of chevrons, then look at their unit cards.
