    Default Complete 'Kalmar Union' change - how?

    I have been puzzling whether it is possible to do a faction merge that includes the text in expanded.

    Say, I do the banner stuff with England getting the one from HRE and then I do the 'give_everything' where HRE gives everything to England. So far so good.

    I am still with a general that praises the king instead of the kaiser and all tooltips will tell me that my merged faction is still England (apart from the change in symbols).

    Hence the question: is it possible here to apply the HRE tooltips (expanded.txt) to England?

    Did this happen with the original Kalmar Union script (I haven't played Teutonic)?

    I don't think so - I have heard that Third Age did something like that, but I can't find anything in the script that points to this.

    In the end it's only a banner change and an asset transfer, but then why not a step further?

    I can confirm that didn't happen in vanilla Third Age but there was a submod, which changed the colors and the expanded text, but that used a bat file.

    I had a look at that sub mod, but I am not happy with that as it requires a restart of the game. Pity you can't reload a different expanded.txt via script.

    I believe you need a free faction slot as a placeholder for the new faction's name. But I can't remember the details or where I read that.

    Taiji is right, both Kalmar Union and Baron alliance requires a new faction slot.

    I was using the faction names as examples, take it as given that I will use a custom faction that is not in play, complete with horde abilities and 'spawned_on_event' in descr_sm_faction and 'dead_until_resurrected' in descr_strat.
    Although I think that is not really required, any faction in play should do, even for the banner (normally not done to avoid confusion).
