Yeah definite Lynch feel to it, the acting imo is top notch too...some of the scenes are pretty damn intense. Dylan McDermott is great and Jessica Lange I dont know whether to hate her character or feel sorry for her heh. The only negative I see is Im unsure how the show lasts beyond a season, they can only go so far before it reaches a breaking point, hell we almost see it this week. I just hope too that they answer some of the plot issues, invoking Lynch is fine but not giving answers eventually gets frustrating and annoying.

The series has only started, answers will come in due time, the writers seem to know what they're doing .

Hehe yeah I cracked up. Guess the writers thought they were being clever using it associated with the two gay guys too.

Why does USA'ers put "American" in front of everything? "American Horror Story" Is it some kind of patriotic nonsense? Why?

Because it sounds alot better then Horror Story or Haunted House? Has nothing to do with being patriotic in this case. Anyway its a good show, it isnt "funny" except maybe in a twisted way. As mentioned above by Rubicon it definitely invokes David Lynch with a surreal thing going on.

Art is entirely subjective. I won't waste my time attempting to persuade you to watch the show on its artistic merit. Some pithy quote from me will never equal the totality of an artistic experience. Even the occasional television show can reach beyond its medium.
    Err, okay.

Can someone who's not pretending to be a Asian monk tell me their opinion of this? The wiki page did not really tell me much. I love horror series like Supernatural though. But if its too sappy its not for me.

Fine, thanks for your help, I guess I'll check it out then.

Oh, and go a bit easier on the patronising next time eh? It does not take great interlect to understand that this is the Art Forums, so people come here to talk about shows and get advice for new ones.

Supernatural is not a sappy tv show? Really?
Thats why im looking for a new show, recent Supernatural seasons have been sappy as hell. It used to be somewhat good though.

No one will accuse AHS of being sappy that is for sure, for a non premium cable channel (here in the US) its actually pretty intense too atleast in some scenes. Sappy in AHS is

I might just watch it then, i was so sceptical about this show because they kept showing the adds - BY THE CREATER OF GLEE!!!!!! - And quite frankly that didnt seem like the best marketing move.

I finally had time to watch it, I've been recording them on my DVR but never had time to actually sit down. Now that i had my time i regret recording it, i think my DVR is now haunted and i hear weird things inside my house. Besides that i find this series to be interesting though how it will last long as a series i will wonder. I either would've moved out or gone crazy by season 2. Still its promising, but one of the things i hate most is the intro for AHS. It just gets you somehow...

    Somehow...

I've been watching this show on demand and ive watched all of the episodes so far.

    Really fascinating show IMo.

    NOW,Not to
    spoil
for anyone(Do not read beyond , not critical spoilers IMO, not really giving much away)

but it seems to me that the people who die in the house are trapped there for eternity. Hence the girl who the main character had an affair with was killed by that guy with the burned face, and now she haunts them. The cop/security officer seems to have her in his car, but then when he arrives at the station she is gone.
Also, they gay couple, and the wife from the 1920's who the house was built for all seem to lurk in the house. Also that guy/person with the dominatrix full rubber suit.

Now I'd like to hear what you guys think of the guy with the burned face who killed his whole family.
Is he a ghost as well, because he seems to be able to go beyond the limitations of the house and its property, always running into the father(ben Harmon) when he is out jogging. Also the young boy the daugther seems to be having a relationship with. Is he a ghost? Before the halloween episode, he doesn't really seem to leave the confines of their property, and just seems to appear and disappear from the house as he pleases. He also returns to the house before the day after halloween.

Also i'd liked to hear your thoughts on the rubber suit guy. Is he, a ghost, past owner of the house?
