Dont put your line directly behind your lights. They will take losses from stray bullets.
If your enemy tells you he's going to charge you ahead of time be prepared for it. *cough* mahakar *cough*
On an actual note? if you can get your opponent to form squares; get your line in range and rip them apart.
When performing counterbattery fire aim at the ground between the individual guncrews, since aiming the unit will aim at the flanks.
Bring about 7-10 cav and harass the flanks constantly. Then when a part of the enemy's line is weakened due to constantly reforming go in for the kill with a cav charge disruption.

make sure ur troops face the enemy when firing. this always works for me lol...
that ur oponet has a light inf advantage means nothing... lights dont win a game unleas u let it be so...
-so dont waste ur calv charging ur oponets lights unleas they are completly unportected.....
- dont spread ur lights all acorss the map...

Never overlap your shooter cavalry.
Any line infantry in square formation has a firing range of 90.
Three upgrades on a cemaat beat an Old Guard in melee.
Send infantry into melee to cancel square formations, simply send cavalry to charge it after. (Militia are a plus for this)
With cannons, click the ground at the very edge of it's range to increase the distance for the cannon shots to bounce off the ground to hit a target out it's range.
When facing France as Britain, never bring Foot infantry. Bring Highlanders.
As France apply pressure on multiple fronts.
Force your opponent into an unstable formation by attacking a flank, apply pressure on the other, break your opponent's center to isolate the flanks, focus on attacking the weakest flank, and defend against the other.

It seems that the roles are changed in this game - here Brits are pussies who rout at the first sight of the enemy, while French soldiers wouldnt rout for nothing![]()
I mean seriously, who hadn't experienced a mass chain rout of your 9 british foot at the first random shot by some militia![]()

Lately, i just stopped using Foots, because all they do is rout.

It strange. Sometimes the stats don't seem to match what you get in the game. GB foot has great accuracy and reload so maybe there is a tendency to use them with slightly less care than other line units. Maybe we all push them forward under fire more often than other units. They're still going to suffer against most nations guard units. On the other hand the almost always come back so they're a tough nation to beat.
Hmmm, make sure your making the enemy react to your actions rather than you reacting to theirs. Being ahead in tactical positioning all over the battlefield can stretch ones micro beyond their capacity to manage, throughout the busy battlefield people will make mistakes eg. not noticing their lines are firing into hills, missing squares etc. Take advantage of this.
i use brits all the time and rarely get a chain rout. when using a nation or build u really need to know its strengths and weaknesses to get the max out of them...
