Game Speed

I recently purchased the Gold Edition of Rome: Total War (with Barbarian Invasion). I played R:TW a few times and enjoyed it. Then I installed Barbarian Invasion. Maybe it is my imagination, but did that expansion cause the tactical battles to play out a lot faster? It seems like every thing moves much more quickly now, even at the slowest game speed, in both R:TW and BI.

After googling around, I found references to various mods that change the gamespeed. I've tried trolling around in the mods library, but haven't been able to find anything. Can anyone recommend a mod that slows game play in the battles down? Failing that, is there some configuration file I can edit on my own? Any suggestions?

In the tactical battles, it seems like the troops move around and fight in an accelerated manner... If I didn't know that I had the game set to normal speed, I would think that it was on "fast forward"...

Well I have enver seen that. It might be with just GE but I don't know.

Lusteds Terrae Expundagae increases the time battles take by a significant amount.

Yes, TE does do that, and I love it!!

I heard more of this stuff just a while back (yay I remember) and I don't think that it is a glitch or bug. I could be wrong though.

I have an AMD DC processor and the patch mentioned in this post solved my problem. Apparently it was always like that and the BI install thing I mentioned was a bit of a red herring. Thanks for the help, though!
