    Default agilo emerging

hi all i am playing the 355 campaign as Julian and have defeated the alemanni and franks and have pushed them back into thier areas on the other side of the rhine. it took alot of manpower and time to do but they finally were defeated and i took chnomder and campus alemanni, and colonia agrippina and campus frisii and the franks decided to join me in alliance and i gave them camp alemanni. anyway i have about 4 full stack legions ready to invade italy. the quadi and lazyges took illryia from the constanini and the quadi moved into italia and took aquielia nd ravenna. my delimma is this.

I wanted to invade italia(not sure what happened historically) and take it from the crumbling eastern empire but every time i attack the constanine cities i am forced into alliance with them. i got around this by paying a modest sum of 200,000 mnai for the whole boot of italy wxcept said territory which the quadi inhabit. i went and took ravenna and aquielia from them and this character named agilo emerges with a good sized army and poetiva is given to me which belonged to the lazyges but it did not declare war on them. my question is

did i somehow circumvent the script by taking aqueila when i wasn't supposed to yet and make this agilo emerge? I just wish i knew what surprises the script has in store for me. (THe foederati franks was a pleasent surprise. does this happen with all allied germans or just the franks?)

The scripting allows for certain things to happen as you have found out. If I tell you everything, then it wouldn't be a surprise would it.

There is an initial forced alliance between Julianus and Constantius II till about 361AD to reflect the history. This gives the Julianus faction time to secure his empire before hostilities break out between them.

a smart thing to be sure. otherwise the eastern half would dominate in the beginning.
