    Default War stories.

I figured we could use one of these .

Ive got 2 campaigns running currently.

Im in the mopping up stages of a dwarf campaign on VH/VH after a rough start ive got myself back on track and now ive got 4 stacks all pushing in different directions one is taking out dunland because there weak so its a good way to gain some income easily.
Another is driving the goblins back and they have only got 3 bases left including there capitol which im sieging it now.
The 3rd is deep inside harad territory playing hit and run to keep them busy chasing me around and not attacking me while gimli is leading the final stack in the final assault in mordor now then will back up the stack in harad to begin wiping them out.
Its been a little tricky since i cant produce in huge numbers and 4 stacks has my income at its limit's so i have to carefully plan out where and when ill fight to win with the fewest possible losses but ive managed to draw them along after me and i plan to just take a large city then wait it out there and let them batter themselves to death on its walls then ill mop up.

The 2nd im running is a H/H as gondor ive made very little headway until now having been forced into a stale mate while i upgraded my income holding a defensive line on osgilioth and the city's to the left and right each of which has 3/4 of a stack of men in it 1/3 spear 1/3 sword and 1/3 archer's always fighting the same way.
I hold the middle with spears and once the enemy is packed into those streets my sword flank and trap them in place while my archers rain arrows into the middle of them.

Not 1 enemy unit has ever escaped them city's but its been a long bloody war ive just begun my assault with a stack consisting of 6 dol archers 2 swan knights 2 dol men at arms 3 winged swordsmen faramir and 6 gondor spear's im creating 6 master rangers to replace the dol archers now and im currently sieging minas morgul with osgilioth's defense force sitting right behind my assault force ready to hold it once its taken and a small force in place there to keep osgilioth secure.
Ive also got 2 small half stacks in rohan helping to stem the tide of isengard and dunland to keep them in the fight until i can increase my income enough to supply them that way and im currently moving in on isengard itself to take it and use it to lure enemy force's away from rohan.

Im curious whats going on in everybody else's wars.
I am the shadow, and the smoke in your eyes I am the ghost, that hides in the night.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
    we shall fight in the hills;
    we shall never surrender.

    " The dark is generous.
Its first gift is concealment: our true faces lie in the dark beneath our skins, our true hearts remain shadowed deeper still. But the greatest concealment lies not in protecting our secret truths, but in hiding from the truths of others.
The dark protects us from what we dare not know.
Its second gift is comforting illusion: the ease of gentle dreams in night’s embrace, the beauty that imagination brings to what would repel in the day’s harsh light. But the greatest of its comforts is the illusion that dark is temporary: that every night brings a new day. Because it’s the day that is temporary.
    Day is the illusion.
Its third gift is the light itself: as days are defined by the nights that divide them, as stars are defined by the infinite black through which they wheel, the dark embraces the light, and brings it forth from the center of its own self.
With each victory of the light, it is the dark that wins.

The dark is generous, and it is patient.
It is the dark that seeds cruelty into justice, that drips contempt into compassion, that poisons love with grains of doubt.
The dark can be patient, because the slightest drop of rain will cause those seeds to sprout.
The rain will come, and the seeds will sprout, for the dark is the soil in which they grow, and it is the clouds above them, and it waits behind the star that gives them light.
    The dark’s patience is infinite.
    Eventually, even stars burn out.

The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins.
It always wins because it is everywhere.
It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun, and the dark is with you, attached to the soles of your feet.
The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.

The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back.
Love is more than a candle.
    Love can ignite the stars."

Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end.

    You began the war.

I am going to end it!

I have three pending campaigns: one as Mordor, one as the Noldor and another as the Silvan Elves.

The Mordor campaign is beginning to end (xD), having conquered Gondor and the Galadhrim, with Rohan and the Silvan in their final throes, Sauron is once more the Lord of the Rings and is marching with his army westward, and the Easterlings have betrayed us, but will soon be punished.

In the Noldorin campaign I'm hundreds of thousands of gold in debt after financing my two stack High Noldor army the first of which has destroyed the Orc Rabbles and it's marching towards Mordor, to defy the Lord of the Rings, and the second it's defending Helm's Deep, the last stronghold of the Rohirrim.

And the Silvan campaign stopped because I got bored of my capital being besieged by the Dwarves ... besides that I'm 70 turns in or so and I barely managed to take Dol Guldur, losing my best general in the process, after tens of turns of guerilla war against the Mordor forces around there.

Mmmmmhh... I think this thread was a good idea, so I'll elaborate my campaign stories in support of it xD

My first campaign in this mod was the Mordor one, I started normally, going straight to Osgiliath and trying to seize and keep the Gondor lands at the east of the Great River. In the first turns I killed pretty much the whole fellowship. First Aragorn and Gandalf, all by themselves were just standing there near Osgiliath so I took my whole army and barely managed to killed them before they escaped, a few turns later, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli fell, though they took the Withcking with them, in a battle that I won with no strategy besides sheer force of numbers. I also captured the Dead Marshes and Thoronburg connecting Mordor with Dol Guldur.

Meanwhile, after the taking of Osgiliath the Southrons betrayed us, trying to take the old capital of Gondor from us. After we repelled them, we pushed them south, took Emyn Arnen from them, and were ambushed by a sizeable force including Troll-men and Mumakil in the woods of Ithilien, losing most of that army stack, along with Gothmog, but barely winning that decisive battle. After we pushed them south of the River Poros, I "force diplomacied" my way to peace and realliance, which they haven't yet broken.

After batting away tons and tons of Gondor reinforcements in Osgiliath and Cair Andros, I crossed the Anduin, and battled a mid size army in front of Minas Tirith. Much unfortunately, Denethor, the Steward, decided to support that army with his tiny force from Minas Tirith. After a pretty unremarkable battle, I destroyed both forces and Minas Tirith fell, not with a bang but with a whimper. This whole time I was developing Dol Guldur to launch an invasion against the Galadhrim.

From Minas Tirith, I started expanding south towards the southern Gondor lands, this took a while, because of the many small Gondor armies on the way, and because I had catapults in my armies to speed up the sieges and prevent the scripted reinforcements (). Eventually the last Lord of Gondor, Hirluin the Fair, fell in Pinnath Gelin, marking the end of Gondor. At the same time an army formed in Mordor marched northwest towards Rohan and conquered Aldburg, Edoras and Dunharrow, while another, coming from Dol Guldur marched through the northern territories of the Rohirrim, with finally both meeting near Helm's Deep and Foldburg.

Another army from Dol Guldur besieged Caras Galadhon and destroyed the Galadhrim. I must confess I auto resolved this battles , I could only beat those darn elves in a real battle once, losing most of my force. Later from Dol Guldur came the expansion northwards through Mirkwood, until we reached Thranduil's Palace, which is currently beng besieged. At the same time, the Easterlings attacked Nurn, and were repelled.

Furthermore, all this time I sent four of the Nine on the look for the ring near the Anduin river, which was eventually found in Gollum, who was slain, and the ring was delivered to the Lord of the Rings. Currently, the Dark Lord is marching northwest, with an army of the best and most powerful Great Orcs in Mordor, Thranduil's Palace is besieged, Mordor forces are nearby Helm's Deep and Foldburg, the reinforcements given when Sauron regained the ring are marching east to avenge the atttack on Nurn and the remaining forces that conquered Gondor are in their way north, towards Dunland.
